Honestly, I only bought one for my runs in the morning and I am really disappointed. A good portion of the time there is significant lag time on when the device detects a stop so I have to just hang out and wait for PoGo+ to detect it.

The catchrate is the real problem. Literally half the time mons will just break out. I found myself taking my phone out of pocket anyway when it buzzed because I couldn't trust the Plus to actually catch it.

Hopefully they patch the catch rate of it up a bit at some point.

Yeah, the piss poor catch rate is the worst part of this device. I don't know if they didn't want to be accused of it being P2W or what. I hope they nudge it up a bit down the road or allow you to set what ball to use and if you use a better ball, you get get a better catch rate (I think standard - 50%, great - 70%, and ultra - 90% would be fair).

I tore down a level 8 (500 xp shy of level 9) mystic gym because they kicked me out of another one. I saw a 2180 RK9 at the top and figured should be easy af. Didnt see the 4 four lapras sandwiched inside
Took me 20 fucking minutes. Put my vape in, quickly powered it level 5 with enough prestige available from slots to be 7. 30 minutes later its level 7, mostly crapmons after mine (all RK9s are shit cause of vaporeon and all vapes are shit cause of grassmons, excellent prestige boosters and totem pole rankers, after dragonite tho)

An hour later its torn down. I already collected my shekels. Those ppl were tight.

Guys, I need your wisdom.

I'm getting ready to break a lucky egg and mass evolve a bunch of pidgeys, but I also want to evolve some new dex entries, I'm not sure if I should do it now or wait out for better mons. Favorite ones have enough candy for an evolution and the ones with a plus sign on their name are according to Blanche "a wonder and breathtaking, etc.".
What do you guys think I should do?

btw, between poliwhirl and poliwag I have enough candy to evolve one and they´re both a wonder, but there's a giant difference in CP

What lvl are you? As a rule of thumb, you're gonna be cycling out everything every 5 lvls or so. Unless you're already lvl 25, there's no point hoarding candy until you're 30 and wait for those lvl 30s.

Is fastpokemap down for everyone else? It doesn't seem to be working for me, which is irritating given that it's the only scanner map that worked in my area.

Don't compare pogo crunch to spoofing. That's a method they actually cannot detect when it's set up properly.

Pogo's problem is not in what it does, but it what it doesn't. It only requests the data about your account and Pokemon from the server, but doesn't send data the normal client would. That makes it known to the server it got accessed by a third party program.

At this point it makes it Niantic's good will whether they'll go after it's users and subsequently allow appeals like they did last time. I mean if you're willing to take that risk, go for it, I don't have anything about people using it, just don't false advertise it as safe.

Devil's advocate -- for urban solo players (like me), it's still worthwhile. I can play while driving to the place where I'm actually going to work and/or hunt pokes.

In that use case (urban, so no shortage of regular balls, and solo, so no ability to let friend drive while you actually play the game), it's still better to get 25% of the pokestops and 33% of the grinder pidgeys just by pressing a button whenever it vibrates (or letting an Arduino do it for me) than to get 0% of them.

Question: some of my Pokémon have stopped gaining significant amounts of CP per power-up.

For instance, my Vileplume, which previously got something like 36 CP per power-up, is now receiving only 16 for some reason.

Is this normal? Do pokémon start to power-up much more slowly when they reach a certain point?

My end of town I can't hold a gym worth a shit, Mystic retakes most gymns within the hour. But about 30 minutes away towards the old city center valor rules and has multiple level 10 gyms.

If you see a level 9 or 10 gym that's your team get yourself into it. Sometime you gotta kick someone out but most high level gyms stay standing.

I've caught over 2,000 Pokémon now, of which only 4 were Dratini. A Dragonite spawned near me once, and I got there just a tiny bit too late. It's almost certainly going to be the last thing I get in my dex (Muk being the other possibility, strangely enough).

Currently, I am subscribed to a service which monitors the area around my university within 10 KM and reports when a significant pokemon is found.

Dragonite typically occurs a few times each week in specific locations (near the Hospital, in the local mall parking lot, right next to a set of freshman dorms) and Snorlax about twice per day.

If you camp those locations for a week you will likely find one.

Same here. Also I keep my device on pokemon as many hours as possible even if I'm sleeping. Seems like it doesn't really have a GPS but just wifi localization system so the inaccuracy means that it will walk some dozens of meters if I leave it or even a hundred of meters if I move it from one side of the house to another.

So when I'm sleeping I leave it charging with the game on energy save mode (that still devours a lot of energy by the way) so I get from a few meters to half kilometer in one night.

THis device have no GPS, it can be a bless and a curse at the same time. In desolate places I'm tied to "rails" between the only wifi signals nearby, I can "walk" 200 meters by only walking 10 IRL depending on the position I'm in but on the other hand I can't reach certain spawn points no matter what. Pretty frustrating to see everybody getting a great snorlax while my avatar refuses to get to the spawn point even if I'm standing right on top of it. Back from my morning Mystic extermination round. Was surprisingly many gyms with more than three mons in them, so either they're reforming or there's just one group going around with a car training gyms. Almost got five of them, but settled with four as a Valor took down one of mine last second. Being Instinct may be hard, but given how many gyms I've seen dominated by reds, Valor must suck even more.

Will probably take some time to just catch mons and rebuild my potion storage before going on the next haul, although I could just settle for less gyms. Dodging really makes a great difference, I've been a fool for ignoring that for so long and just attacking in full.

I really need mroe attackers though. Would've been nice to get one of those Vapes with Aqua Tail or Hydro Pump, but for reasons unknown I was gifted with three Pulse defenders instead. Here's hoping my next Poliwrath will deliver.

You see a 6000/4000 level 3 gym with 3 mons in it, you need to train by winning as many 1v1 battles as you can. Say first mon is a flareon or arcainine, select the lowest cp mon you can beat it with whose cp is at least well under the other mom's. Win this battle, bail on next mon (leave gym as soon as the 2nd battle begj s, and youll earn 501-999 prestige. I have a rivalry like this except with an instinct guy in my town. I always take the gym in the morning/afternoon then at night he gets it back and always put a grass type, usually victreebell, and they all have solarbeam. I'm always in longer though because I actually bother to train it up. He's always on his own or with only one other person who walked by. There's one or 2 free slots anyway usually when you take it over and even if you level it up, it'll just wait empty until someone else takes it down. You don't have to beat it in one go, the gym will still downrank based on how many you did beat before losing. The only factor is how much time you have, and how many revive / potions you have.

Im restocking after foolishly taking down a level 8 gym yesterday with 4 lapras in it. Down to 57 revives, 30 max, 6 hyper, 14 super potions

I hope i dont get gps drifted out midbattle, which is prone when battling for more than 5min

I actually do this on purpose now in my town that used to be terrorised by a bunch of shitty botters. However it seems Niantec finally completely took them down, but their gyms were of course still up. It's a lovely sight to see my hometown slowely recovering again after their complete domination and I'm planning to help take down the last 3 which are still up. So yes I'm completely out of revives again but it's all for the greater good in the end

yep, i was frustrated as hell because in my town you have a tiny window before the little kids whose moms won't let them go outside start spoofing every gym in the town so you have to quickly get as much gyms as you can

got locked out of many gyms because of that and lost the chance to cash many coins
