Palkia looks like a cool Godzilla inspired kaiju.

Dialga has some okay design elements but it's legs just look retarded all splayed out like that. It looks like it's struggling to keep it's weight up.

Anyways, Origin Giratina is the coolest design of the creation trio.

On one hand Dialga got a badass battle theme and was a major villain in mystery dungeon sky, which was one of my favorite games to come out during gen IV.
While on the other hand palkia was the first legendary I actually caught and was my bro during the last few stages of pearl. I'm just gonna say that I objectively like these two more than Giratina and leave it at that.

They're both lackluster as fuck. Gen 4 and 5 totally failed to deliver any interesting box legends.

Dragon/Steel is far more useful in today's meta. Primal Groudon makes Palkia nearly useless, since Precipice Blades kicks its ass, and it can barely harm Groudon. Meanwhile Dialga can facetank Xerneas and force it to switch if it doesn't have Focus Miss.

I want to see what the Gen 4 remakes do to them. What if they make it so their orbs turn them into a Giratina-world form and change them to be more offensive?

Gen 4 happened at a time when Game Freak didn't feel the need to make a fuckton of exclusive abilities. All I can remember from Gen 4 are Motor Drive, Solid Rock, and Cherubim's form change bullshit.

They're pretty cool conceptually, but executed horribly. They should've been leaner and more imposing, and they should look drastically different from most other Pokemon.

If Palkia looked like a wispy insectoid dragon with an outer space pattern, it would've been one of THE most badass Pokemon to date.

You know gen 4 is the only gen to do that for legends right? Not counting the legends made prior to abilities.

In any case Drought and Drizzle were exclusive to Groudon and Kyogre until Gen 5 and it was rectified in ORAS.
Then Zekrom and Reshiram had Teravolt and turbo blaze.
XY had the auras.

Basically they got lazy in gen 4.
