If Sinnoh is remade, they can introduce new pokemon with Sinnoh Forms.

What pokemon would be good choices to get a Sinnoh Form?
>>
Anything becoming a Fire-type
>>

>What pokemon would be good choices to get a Sinnoh Form?
Some genwun ones would be nice :^)
>>
>darmanitan (fighting/fire)
>vanillux (something more than just an icecream cone)
>Gorgeist (ghost/fire)
>gigalith (ice/rock)
>litwick line (more tradition Japanese style)
>druddigon (rock/dragon)
>avalugg (better stats/ability)
>Goodra (evolve in marsh dragon/water)
All I can think of
>>
>>28693376
Hell, it doesnt have to be purely new mons, I expect DP remakes/sequels to have Johto forms since Alola had Kanto ones, and Sinnoh is connected to Johto
>>
>>28693740
SINNOH
>>
>>28693891
This. Took the words right out of my mouth desu
>>
>>28693740
Vanilluxe could be a Rock-type 'chocolate ice cream' type variation.

Crystal Onix deep in the coal mines!

Grass/Fairy Roselia line in Floaroma Town and surrounds.

Grass/Electric Magnemite line near Sunyshore that runs on solar energy.
>>
>>28693891
Hmm
>politoad (water/psychic, maybe bigger with a more king-like design)
>bellosom (grass/fairy)
>forretress (looks bulkier)
>seaking (water/fairy, looks more elegant)
>Magikarp (water/dragon) gyarados (dragon/fire)
>lurantis (bug/fairy)
>>
>>28694092
Now you're talking

Though if anything, I'd say Politoad becomes Water/Ground due to liking the marshland and being bullied by Toxicroak
>>
>>28694319
To be honest I was thinking the same thing
I was stuck between that and psychic to kind of be the opposite of Poliwrath
>>
>>28694345
Hell, could go full on Psychic/Ground, to make it a Poliwrath counterpart, while still tieing it to protecting itself from Toxicroak.
>>
>>28694319
Or it could go full-Marowak and become Ground/Psychic-type?
>>
>>28694044
>Rock type
>chocolate
>not Rocky Road
>>
>>28694412
>>28694431
I legit didn't see this before I posted, cos I hadn't clicked the auto-update!
>>
>>28693376
I would love Sinnoh formes for Togepi, Sneasel, Gligar, Aipom, Porygon 2, Piloswine, Magneton Tangela, Magmar, Electabuzz, Rhydon, Kirlia, Snorunt, Duskull and 2 new Eeveelutions :^)

Great minds my friend

>>28694491
SOme of those I dont see happening because their habitat in Sinnoh wouldnt be much different from Johto. Like Sneasel, Aipom or Piloswine.

I do wonder about Porygon2 though....
>>
>>28693740
I think the Vanilluxe line becoming Ice/Fairy would be nice.
>>
I could see some pokemon adapting to the water because of the large lakeland areas too.
>>
>>28694634
maybe expanded marshlands and lakes
>>
> people thinking sinnoh cross-evolution will have sinnoh form

Sinnoh cross-evo's Sinnoh form is the actual form. Stop mentioning Magnemite, Duskull and other of these
>>
>>28694092

>teddiursa/ursaring - ice/normal type, thicker, white coat

Migrating from temperate Johto, Ursaring adapted to the colder, wetter environment of northern Sinnoh. Ancient tales speak of the enormous pokemon preying on humans, but in modern times they avoid settled areas.

>mareep/flaafy/ampharos - fire, fire/rock, fire/steel respectively; all three forms - but especially ampharos - are much bulkier, and have a brown/red color scheme

Cut off from the dense electrical grid that criss-crosses Kanto and Johto, Ampharos adapted to draw power from the forges and foundries that line Mt. Coronet.

>spinarak/ariados - bug/dark type, stubbier, more segmented limbs, darker color scheme, urticating hairs

While Sinnoh Ariados lack the powerful venom of their southern relatives, they have developed hardier bodies and can rapidly shed their irritating hairs to ward off attackers and entrap prey.
>>
>>28694836
Oh true, Magnemite got an evo in gen 4.
>>
>>28695056

PLEASE DO MORE
>>
>>28695056
What about a Water-type Teddiursa line that adapted to the water/lakelands?

I'm killing myself if I have to wait 3 years and get this shit.
>>
The only pokemon that get alola form would be gen 1 pokemon that appear in sinnoh, not any gen 4 pokemon
>>
>>28695158

This is genuinely the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me on /vp/.

>>28695163

That could work- my variation was a pretty thinly-veiled polar bear, which is a pretty maritime animal, so it could be Ice/Water.

I would not be averse to a remade Sinnoh with multiple Teddiursa lines. Bears for days.

Anyway, here's more:

hoothoot/noctowl - flying/psychic (fucking finally), large, yellow eyes, grey plumage

Noctowl that migrated to the Sinnoh region have had their latent telekinetic abilities massively exaggerated. While no scientific explanation has been accepted, many locals attribute it to the many ancient shrines that still stand in modern Sinnoh.

hoppip/skiploom/jumpluff - grass/fire; color schemes are muted, and their leaves/petals/cotton are on fire/replaced by plumes of fire

While many Grass pokemon adapt to harsher climates by becoming sturdier or more tolerant of cold, Jumpluff has exhibited a curious adaptation of igniting its own leaves. Why this fails to harm Jumpluff, and how the pokemon acquired the ability to manipulate fire, remains a mystery.
>>
>>28695245
What? They're Sinnoh Regional Variants

This is going to be such a fucking clusterfuck if Gamefreak doesn't fully patch SM.

I mean, you clearly put a lot of thought into it. It makes sense and it sounds good.
>>
I can't stop. Help me.

>natu/xatu- flying/fairy; pale blue coloration with much more extravagant plumage, larger eyes.

Separated from Johto's many monastic orders, Sinnoh's Xatu population lost much of its psionic discipline; however, latent mystical abilities have begun to reassert themselves. They are far more gregarious than their southern relatives, and will often steal food or baubles from humans.

>phanphy/donphan- ground/steel; brown and maroon coloration, respectively, both species have steel plating covering much of their bodies

Donphan is not native to Sinnoh, but was introduced to the region several decades ago as an exotic curiosity. Preyed upon extensively by Garchomp, a small population survived long enough to develop metallic plating. Sinnoh Donphan are markedly more aggressive than their southern relatives.

on a scale of 10 to 10, how trashy would it be to have Sinnoh forms of the Gen 2 starters
>>
>>28695700

Ambipom and Octillary aren't electric-types?

Surely you jest.
>>

>>
>>28695255

The volcano was post-game...

There should be been more fire types (and more of every type really, I liked X/Y's Pokemon diversity)
>>
>>28695845
steel fire steelix would be dope as hell
>>
Honestly, I think that if they're going to introduce Sinnoh forms, they need to be Pokemon from Gen 5-7. why would pokemon that are native to Sinnoh adapt differently then what they're already in? That'd be like if Mudsdale had an Alolan form to adapt to Alola, despite its base form being native there.

Otherwise, they'll just go with Megas. Maybe exclusive Z moves as well.
>>
>>28693376
Why would Sinnoh get new forms?
>>
>>28695968

I think they could plausible come from 1-3 too- even if they appeared in their native form in Gen 4, it's not like retcons are impossible.

Gen 4 Sinnoh forms in particular don't make much sense, though, yeah.
>>
Sinnohan Mudsdale
Ice
Thick Fat/Stamina
Mudsdale were reintroduced to Sinnoh as part of a repopulation project. They became cherished for their hardiness, especially in the Snowpoint region. Instead of mud, clumps of ice and snow coat their pelts, and their hooves became even harder to help with traction.
>>
>>28695423
>shrines that still stand in modern Sinnoh
Wouldn't this be more for a fairy type pokémon? Connection to myths and legends seems to be one of Fairy-type's few themes. Just look at Alolan Ninetails.
>>
>>28695746
Like them both, but especially the Xatu. Its cool to see it change one sort of innate power for another.

>>28695968
It could just be a retcon. Plus, don't forget, Eggxecutor is "native" to Alola as well as Kanto. It just adapted form long ago.
>>
>>28694412
Why not just Water/Psychic? Poison and Fighting are both weak to Psychic.
>>
>>28693376
Anything (except for Eevee) that had a cross-gen evolution introduced in Gen IV. It'd be a good way to highlight them. Plus, new forms for some of those cross-gen evolutions might look less terrible. Looking at you, Magmortar.
>>
>>28696118

Easily could be, and thinking about it, my real-animal inspiration, the Potoo, is more Fairy-looking that Psychic. Plus, it opens the door to a more original moveset. I'm on board.

i haven't played XY, though, so i really know nothing about the lore behind fairy type, except that that's what clefairy is now
>>
>>28695968
Well I would hope that even though it is a remake we don't go to the exact same places as in D/P/P. Maybe keep a few key cities/locals but everything else is new.
That would be one way to explain why you're running into Sinnoh forms, you've never been to this area!
>>
>>28696067
Bonus points for spikes on the bottoms of the hooves for traction
>>
>>28696216
Because with Psychic/Ground, one type beats one of Poliwrath's types and one is weak to it
>>
>>28693376
>Sinnoh Golruk
>Made out of iron due to the commonplace of mines in Sinnoh
>Slower, bulkier and with chain cannon arms.
>>
>>28696342
I'd like it more if the Golurk type change was based on how people in the past did stuff differently.

It would be nice added lore to how the regions differ in the past

I don't think so either, and it could be probably is a coincidence, but ORAS plot incorporated mega evolution a lot, I think Gen4Remakes are going to definitely expand on Z-Moves, and if Synchro evolution is a thing (which I personally think it will be, just like AshGreninja), Professor Rowan specialises in Pokemon Evolution and could be studying both Mega evolution and Synchro. Just my own theory though.
>>
>>28693376
>Psychic/Fairy Lake Trio
>>
>>28695423
I could see an ice/flying Noctowl based on a Snowy Owl as an option as well. What species are native to northern Japan anyway? It should be based on that
>>
>>28696534
I do wonder what Gen 4 remakes/sequels would expand on.

Based in Rowan's thing, it could end up being based on Regional Variants and why they evolve differently. Or Megas. I don't think Syncro will be a thing
>>
>>28696708

Apparently there's a species of grizzly that's endemic to Hokkaido, the island that Sinnoh is based on. It's black-furred, so maybe Sinnoh Ursaring should mimic that, rather than a polar bear.

Other that, though, not a whole lot of unique stuff; that's the problem with being a small, densely-populated island. I'd say that any mountainous or colder region is fair game, especially Siberia, since Sinnoh includes a small part of real-world Russia.

When in doubt, though, remember that there are panda pokemon in France.
>>
Does Sinnoh have enough diversity to justify having unique pokémon forms? All I can remember is that there was a lot of mountainous terrain, the marshlands and a big snowy region. I just don't think that is good enough.
>>
>>28697545
It doesn't need diversity within the region, it just needs to be unique enough in climate/overworld from other regions. Not even all of them, just some. Which it is.

It could capitalize off Say, being wetter than Kalos. Colder than Alola. Cleaner air than Kanto. The region is more traditional than Unova. More big cities than Johto. You get the idea.
>>
>>28697545
Do you mean diversity in region or pokemon? If it's region, I think it fits the criteria because of the different areas, although I don't remember these areas being quite big. If it's in term of pokemon, I know it was definitely a problem in DP, but it was fixed in Platinum.
