It sounded like Hau's battle music but different from the one in the demo we heard awhile back in the year, it reminded me of how the R/B/Y & FR/LG rival music changed as you progressed in the story. What if the same happens with Hau's as we battle against him as we get closer to the end game.
Now Hau may not be the serious rival people want, but what if as we battle him, his battle music changes as he becomes more determined to give you the great battle you deserve because you two have been through so much?

Gladion's probably going to fill in as the serious rival, honestly. Hau's the fun one.
ORAS kind of did a similar thing with Wally getting unique (and frankly badass) battle music. I wouldn't mind seeing something similar with Hauwhile Gladion's gets less edgy and more in line with traditional peppy rival teams as the player helps him overcome what makes him so much of an edgelord.

Getting some character development out of both of them would be great seeing as the X/Y rivals felt a bit stale besides Serena and I guess Shauna.
Just make something out of them besides smiling/angry NPCs

They're the same song. The difference was that this time it wasn't through shitty Treehouse audio with people talking over it and general E3 background noise.

If thats the case, then i'm a bit bummed. It would have been nice to have two variants of the rival music
