Reasons why megas will be back:
1, They are a designed property. They have copyrights and everything. That also means they have to pay for the copyrights. Game companies normally milk said copyrights for all the money they can a thousand times over.
2, Evidence that Gamefreak has never gotten rid of a battle mechanism like this before.
3, The above picture, it is interesting how Gamefreak isn't exactly going after said magazine for publishing false information. Before you say, "Well it isn't false information if Mega Gardevoir was in the game. So the ability would work. However, mega gardevoir isn't in the game." Please correct yourself, if Mega gardevoir wasn't in the game, Gamefreak would be after that magazine so fast as they don't want misrepresentation of their game.

Reasons megas might not be in the game:
1, Haven't seen one in the game trailer.

Just want to point out that you are wrong about the way copyrights work. Other than that I agree with you. A copyright is free and intrinsically created the same time that a work is created, depending on the country. A TRADEMARK is different, costly, and pants-on-head strict about its usage.

It doesn't really prove anything, but considering that Megas were never going to be removed in the first place, it's not like we needed proof for them to be back.

You know, if Megas aren't cut, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect more in SM just becuse they had to have designed some for Z. They're already recycling cut Z content like Zygarde, so seeing a few extra Megas added to SM would make sense if they don't want that effort to have been wasted, even if they didn't design any new ones explicitly for Gen 7.
