I actually liked our trailer more for the most recent info

American trailers are presenting the trailers as if they're trying to attract the Pokemon Go crowd; that's why they've had nothing but Gen I and new pokemon shown off
Contrast the japanese trailers where pokemon from every gen is shown

Nintendo of America is pretty incompetent if you haven't noticed already.

This.
The only thing I really hate is the PIKA at the beginning. Why does Japan get to be exempt from this torture?

In my opinion, Japanese trailers are always the best, but messy. Meanwhile, US trailers are a bit organized, but have much less content. (I.E. Dubbed music and etc.)
For example, the first Japanese trailer in September showed Alolan Raticate along with Gumshoos, later introducing it as the evolved form of A-Rattata, which killed the hype. US always does the order better compared to Japan for that specific matter.
I think it's just due to the difference in audience. In America, advertisements attract customers through the use of thorough information, explaining WHY the product should be bought. Japan's advertising relies on strangeness and silliness so that the customer remembers the commercial longer.
In the same way, America's videos present all their information without taking too long, while Japan's videos are more about presentation.
