I've been playing with Battle Ruler for a while now and it's pretty good for theme format since you have a couple different win conditions and like 4 different draw supporters and like 4 different search cards.

I'm saving coins to get Gears of Fire too. Shit looks decent thanks to Flame Charge Pyroar enabling consistency and Klingklang being a win condition all on its own. Plus, Ninja Boy, Ultra Ball, and Evosoda are some decent trainers for the deck.

You should consider Skyla.
Its really important in Mega decks with Garb since it helps to find Stadium / Float Stone / Spirit Link / Mega Turbo in important moments and being able to look for that specific item can win a game for you.

Giovanni isnt really needed there, IDK why you added it.
Same as Ranger, you have no use for Ranger in this deck at all.

Against Volcanion you lose anyways even if you have Giovanni there is almost 0% chance you will end up winning that match unless they brick hard and you have perfect draws, even then you will still probably lose.

Compressor is not needed for Mega Turbo.
You can either discard the energy with ultra ball or use it when a scizor or cobalion gets knocked out to charge another mega scizor in 1 turn.

I made a Garchomp deck for one. Turned out to be alright. Nothing special but surprisingly fun.
Built a Nido deck. Nidoqueen can deal 140 with 2 King on the bench, for one energy. And poisons. It's slow as fuck and that rarely happened, though. Nowhere near as fun, better of sticking with themed for that.

Honestly, PLC should just start creating better theme decks, period. XY Basic Blue/Green/Red, even the pre-nerf ones, aren't actually overpowered in any way. I most cases you're most likely to end up with a Greninja line or a Simipour line. While you'll probably end up with articuno or gyarados at some point, they're behind the curve on 3-4 energy charges. As poorly constructed as the theme decks are, your odds of bricking out and never seeing a gyarados or more than 2 energy at once is annoyingly high. That's why the biggest workhorses for me have always ended up being sealo/frogdier/simipour. Two of those are weak to grass.

I would really have to disagree here. I play XY: Basic Green (mainly because I like grass Pokemon) and definitely do not feel that I have an advantage vs XY: Basic Blue, precisely because of how easy it is to get Gyarados going.

Spheal/Articuno stall for a bit/fish for energy; Fan Club gets you Magikarp and Exp. Share gets energy onto it, Dive Ball gets Gyara and then you just win.

The ONLY way to stop it is to get out Shiftry and flood your bench. Stage 2 vs stage 1 is much harder to bring out (especially with just ultra ball rather than dive ball) and then you need enough Pokemon to fill your bench after Gyarados has destroyed half of it. Not only that, but you need your opponent to have at least 2 Pokemon on the bench to be able to OHKO, even if you have all 5.

To beat Basic Blue you have 3 options:

-Lysandre Magikarp
-Put on early pressure/get Chesnaught or Shiftry out on turn 3
-Hope Gyarados is prized

If you're going to force the dual-type meme, don't half-ass it. If you actually run a full dual-type setup, you don't even need Sky Field and can fit in Fairy Garden, Parallel City, or Faded Town instead.

EXP Share makes no sense in this deck. Neither do Umbreon or Flygon, since you can't use them efficiently at all. There's no reason not to run actually usable Pokemon instead. There's never a reason to run 2x of a Pokemon if you're not even going to be attacking with it. The slot used for your second Volcanion can be much better suited for something actually usable.

If you don't want to do the SS build, you can just do the Hoopa Box or Utility Box build instead.

Normally 150~200 RS each, or around 100~150 PLF. No one's going to trade one for any other pack.
In terms of cards, you can actually probably trade 6-8 or so Shaymin FA for one, or some combination of several Shaymins and other high-value FA/SR cards like Max Potion, etc.
It's best to trade for one when PLF is in the tournament rotation, like right now. Lots of scrubs end up pulling one and trading it off poorly. Just wait a few more days for the pulls to pile up.

Realistically, you won't be able to trade it since no one actually wants it. No big money card, you can only really make 5-10 RS at most off of what you pull.

Trading to make profit takes around 15-20 minutes at the start of the day when you set up your 20-30 trades and around 50 more minutes during the day setting up the trades that go through again.

Doing this you earn enough packs to buy a regular art shaymin in 2-4 hours of trading not couting dead time.

The rest of the time can be spent doing literally anything else, such as working at your job. Or playing a different game. Or sleeping, masturbating, eating, whatever floats your boat.

There is NO WORK involved in trading. There is NO TIME INVESTMENT involved in trading. You set it up then you fuck off. Next time you log in, cash money.

Thats 2-4 hours of active setting up trades throughout 2-3 days to get the 44ish packs to get Shaymin EX which you can easily buy for $10.

I dont know how you trade, but the people I know that trade for profit do it by setting up between 20 to 40 trades at the start of the day and setting them up again once they go up again.
The initial set up takes them 15-20 minutes to do and another 40ish minutes to set up the trades that go through during the day.

Setting up 40 trades takes 25 minutes.

Loggin in, checking what trade got through, setting it up again and another trade to restock takes around 90 seconds.


Im not counting the time it takes for the trade to go through, im counting the time you have to use to get enough packs to get a card ingame, the same card you can get for $10 instead of wasting 2-4 hours of time setting up trades and 2-3 days waiting for them to go through.

Giratina is a great card right now. It just doesn't have any amazing partners.

Xerneas isn't that good because it's a slow and inefficient attacker that requires a lot of setup and multiple turns to actually do damage, and even then it struggles to hit magic. Its typing is irrelevant.

Its older partner, Darkrai, was only really good because it was an efficient counter to Trevenant, something baby Yveltal couldn't really do quickly on its own. Its typing is irrelevant this format.

Finally finished this list (got a trade up for the Diancie, just have to wait for someone to bite).

Other than being trash because it's not one of the 3 good meta decks, how does it look? What can I do to improve it?

The idea is to get Fairy Garden set up and then constantly rotate my attackers (Diancie and Magearna, ideally), using abilities which means it'll be shit on by Garbodor of course to make everyone hard to kill and Whimsicott as an offensive cleric.

Basic Blue is the best theme deck bar none, with Basic Green in second. Dark Hammer was the best purchasable deck, but it fell out of rotation.

It's all about getting them built up with ease and with a lot of energies on some. These great balls straight up searches for basic pokemon in your deck cuz they are older. All items so that sableye can recycle anything I need from the graveyard. I've thought about an amulet coin or two. My prof letters are in my legendary bird deck (including ho-oh and Lugia BREAKs) but I've considered them too.

There's "following the meta" and then there's just playing cards that should always be played. There's no reason to not play cards like Sycamore, Mail, N, Lysandre, etc.

It's fine that you don't want to take it too seriously, but if you have any of those cards there's literally no reason not to put them in.

On a strategy note, is there really much point in having that many different Pokémon? If you're worried about not having enough energy, it's likely because you'll end up with a hand of ten Pokémon and not even enough energy to use the things you already have out. Before you put a Pokémon into your deck, think about whether there are actually any situations where you would want that Pokémon over something else that's already in there.

I only played casually for years, so I know what it's like to want to put all the cool things you have into a deck, but there's no point shooting yourself in the foot.

I always have crazy gimmick/semi gimmick ideas, this time I thought of pic related + dimension valley with energy disruption and max potion easy heal with the cheap 1 energy 80 dmg to anywhere on the board, but when trying I found out that unfortunately since you need to discard 2 energy it doesn't work with dimension valley.

Welp I will keep trying :D
