Are you complaining about the length? Pretty sure you'll be able to turn animations off. Transforming into megas was different since it was a disguised loading screen, which is one of the reasons why they got rid of megas btw.

I'm not even sure if Z moves will even be that good. Snorlax definitely could be worse with a Z move item compared to some other held item, but we haven't seen any specifics on the different types of Z moves yet.
