This is a really great gen. As long as they don't slam on brakes and leave us with 70-80 total again, I'll be beyond pleased.

This is my favourite Gen so far. There have been other gens where I liked most mons, but never to this extent. I honestly wouldn't even care if there were no new mons after this. I'm fine with a batch of 50-60 extremely high quality pokes.

Not to say I don't WANT more, but we've already got close to Kalos numbers and the quality of the mons is, in my opinion, much higher, so it'd be okay if this was it.

Worth noting though, that Jangmo-o, Wimpod, Komala and Morelull are pretty likely to evolve. Bringing us to 61-65 mons depending on how many stages they get.

Gen VII is shaping up to be the season of the gimmick-mon. A few pretty solid designs in the mix at least, but a lot of pretty shitty ones. Kind of like Gen V was.

I don't like all that many desu, but I think it always takes a while for the new designs to grow on me. I like:

The rest I'm either apathetic to or dislike.

I'm somewhat ambivalent over the Fighting types introduced so far--Crabrawler and Passimian are interesting and cool but not really my cup of tea, and I'm just trying to not think about the other one.

Right, yeah. Riddler also has something about a monkstaff and the totem from XY, so if neither of those are a reference to the Tapu's or Marshadow, there's a few more.

I'm expecting Gen 7 to have around 90 new mons, though IIRC there was a leak that mentioned Lunala's dex number being #822, which would put us closer to 100 + Alolan forms.
