I don't hate it personally, but every time someone uses "Arceus" as a stand in for euphemisms involving God (Oh My Arceus!, etc.) I kinda wish it had never been made.

I love it, the idea is good, the design is nice, perfect cry and perfect ability.
However, while the stat spread is fantastic as it can fulfill all battle roles, it is starting to be a bit underwelming next to shit like MegaFug.
Solution: Retcon catchable Arceus to one of the thousand arms and make a true Arceus as an UB

This. The power creep was bad enough before, but then they bring up Mega Fug in ORAS and treat Rayquaza like it's literally God. They even go as far as to call it Lord Rayquaza. It seems weird that they made a way bigger deal over Rayquaza, who's just a general "guardian of the earth", than God itself.

1. Its ability its shit. It should have own twist like: Every move used on it is not very effective as long you collect the plate of said type.

He's a cool concept, but I feel like making a Pokemon who is so central to lore into a mythical pokemon really limits his involvement in the games.
At least the little scene from HGSS when he creates an egg is cool, but getting to see that in your own game was a blink and you'll miss it opportunity.
Anyways, I hope he becomes like Deoxys, and they integrate him into the game as an post game encounter or something, in the inevitable D/P remakes.

It's also pretty normal and is also weaker than a few.

He ends up just being what is essentially a regular pokemon with an interesting Dex entry. A wasted opportunity.

The thing about Groudon/Kyogre clashing in ancient times and shaping the lands and seas, about Zekrom/Reshiram splitting from the Original Dragon to side with the two brothers, is that they are things of legend that definitely happened in the Pokemon world. Arceus is revered as a creator in Sinnoh region lore, but we cannot know if that is actually the truth of things and the one true creation myth of the Pokemon world. Similarly, Dialga and Palkia are revered as deities of time and space in Sinnoh, but from our point of view they might as well be just another strong Pokemon with powers related to space-time.
