I've always wanted some kind of pokemon gaiden type game. One with shorter campaigns about new trainers with character and plot. Each character's campaign having unique mechanics like grooming for a breeder, or customer interaction for a pokeshop owner.

Pokemon RPG it would somewhat similiar to Mario RPG. You would control a team of 5-11 different trainers that would boost ''leveling, IVs, EVs, abilities, moves, stats, etc...'' Also you would have some alien invasion and you have to save the world from aliens (Not Deoxys) Legendaries could work as summons worked in Final Fantasy.

How about a dark souls/blood borne esque game taking place during the era of AZ's rule, or maybe in The time of the two brothers who controlled the completed version of the Tao trio. In the game you're a knight/Explorer going through the vast world with a pokemon you befriended, slaying other knights and their pokemon, or defending towns of savages and rampaging pokemon and shit like that, and you get a deeper lore for the pokemon world. Keep your partner alive as it's fucking hard as shit to befriend a new one and also they can die. Explore places and see the vast difference they have to their modern counterpart, fight for which side you believe in, truth or ideals, and even partake in the massive pokemon war X and Y mentioned. Meet AZ and the Brothers before their fall from grace, and watch how everything crumbles for a new rule to begin
