For me, I was actually going to choose Serperior. But something told me to choose Tepig, and it ended up becoming one of my all-time favorite Pokemon lines.

I'm a grass picker usually, also love Serperior, but When first playing BW, I chose Oshawott and grew extremely hateful for the whole wotter line very quickly regretted it. Made me drop BW for a a few months, didn't even get all the badges. Later restarted with Tepig and it became my favorite fire and gen5 starter during the playtrough.
