I doubt Pokemon with megas will get regional variants. Especially Pokemon like Charizard, who already have 2 megas.

If any starters are getting Alola'd, I'd bet on the Johto bunch.

No, the starters are incredibly rare species which appear to solely be under the control of the regions specific professor(s), most likely they are either endangered, or so rare that you're unlikely to run into them in the wild, and the professors are breeding them as starters for trainers. So there probably isn't enough in the wild, let alone wild in Alola to develop evolutionary diversity

Honestly, I think it'd be an enormous missed opportunty hype/marketing wise NOT to. Normies love the Kanto starters and would go fucking mad for a great redesign.
