Also is not very consistent with hair colors. Just look at Crys and her hair ranging from brown to black to blue. Silver also has some variation fo shade of red. Yellow has been seen with brown, green and yellow eyes over the years.

There's such a thing as leaving it up to interpretation. I think she was probably designed with the intention of being Silver's mother considering she was one of Giovanni's higher-ups and the only character in-game that could've really fit the bill.

Well there is some similarity in the design. But during the Gen IV days it looked like GF had a fetish for redheads and they all look similar to some extent.
So I don't know if Ariana was completely intentional or if it was a coincidence.

About letting things open to interpretation, so was Silver before HGSS, but at least you had an NPC who talked about Giovanni's son being a redhead boy.
