They're both great. 2 does defense with eviolite. If you can teach it recover, it becomes "the thing that won't fall down". Z does good offense with download or adaptability. It learns Nasty Plot as well.

Yeah, I know. Pory2 is unexpectedly reliable in competitive, it's outstandingly bulky.
My problem with Z is that it's very frail, it always gets KO'd due to its lackluster speed and defenses when I attempt to use Nasty Plot + Triattack or Hyper Beam. I could use Agility but it makes me lose a turn.

I prefer the look of Porygon over Porygon2 or Porygon-Z

On the other hand, what moveset do you think is the best for 2? I use the basic Recover, Toxic, Tri-Attack and Thunderbolt set but it sometimes get boring in-game

It's defenses are pretty bad, especially compared to it's younger brother 2, but adaptability and life orb boosts make tri attack ohko a surprising amount of threats, if you manage to set up a nasty plot or agility with it you are good to go. I also try to baton pass some boosts from smeargle as well.

If gamefreak had stuck with their Gen 4 design philosophy then I'd say yeah but aside from sylveon, who was promoting a new type, they don't seem too keen on doing more cross gen evos. I'd love to see what a Porygon 3 would be capable of.
