As OP I'd like to say that I've been extremely excited about the Pokemon designs revealed so far. The only exceptions being Bruxish and Stufful. That being said I do sometimes wish that there was just a slight tweak to some of the Pokemon. I mean, I love Wereruff, I just wish the crescent was referenced somewhere other than his bangs.

Mimikyu is my second favorite Alolamon so far! I love it. My only slight complaint is that I think it could do without the club. It's slightly too conveniently 'Pikachu Tail' shaped and seems strange that it would be using 1 hand to hold it up all the time. I think it would be awesome if it ends up fighting with it though.

What samurai helmet looks like this? It is an elongated shell shooting out of the back of his head. It looks more like the alien's head from Aliens. Then there is something on the front that looks like a unicorn horn with jags, and the face becomes more like that of a sea lion than an otter, and he is now on all fours, struggling to stand on three legs. That "sword" also looks more like a european medieval lance to me.

Your problem is that you need everything to be literal, because you lack any sort of creativity.
First off, do some actual research on samurai helmets. There's a huger variety of shapes, patterns, and designs, obviously Samurott's isn't a 1:1 representation but certain aspects are represented - the elongation is meant to imitate the neck protection they often have. His mustache also represents the facemasks a lot of helmets have.
Again, the swords don't have to be literal katanas, that's fucking stupid, why would a Pokemon have a katana? Instead, they help form the shape of the shoulderguards seen on Samurai armor along with the sheaths, it's actually really clever.

Smaller front paws, red eyes that aren't glowing and posture changed so that he's a bit more upright.

For people having trouble why it has a horn on it's helmet, it is supposed to function like a "3rd shell weapon" as samurai warlords attacked with spears while having 2 swords on their pockets. Since Dewott relied on two shells to fight, its primary coverage move would be X-Scissor whereas Samurott upgrades that coverage with Megahorn by just using its newly worn helmet.

I think the only real problem with samurott is his body structure. If it was more bipedal or even mega swampert level of mostly upright in the back it would be fine. The horn spear would still work and he would have the ability to use his swords. His sprite in gen 5 made put him on all fours and his model didn't even have the decency to correct it in gen 6, making it even worse with his pathetic sword animations on 3 legs.

Yeah this looks terrible.

I would keep the hair but change the red fur to a dark navy blue. Then there's a less edgy goth color scheme and it has some camouflage at night so it makes more sense, too.

It's not realistic. The costume is obviously a very amateurish attempt to mimic Pikachu (which is part of the charm) But the stick just happens to be a perfect curved representation of the tail? Doesn't seem to be likely that it found it, and it also doesn't seem likely that it is suddenly great at whittling when it can hardly draw a face (which again, is part of the charm).

It's possibly based on a Chochin chicken, which have feathery legs. Also it's clearly supposed to be 'martial arts pants' In cockfighting the reason the legs are the main weapons is because they use their back spurs like knives to cut at the other chicken, Blaziken just kicks shit, it doesn't need spurs or claws.
