2: loses a legitimate defense against opposing predators i.e fire spine

All that said, I really want to try to be zen and not be bothered by these types of things. But these are the first set of first form starters I've liked since fucking Hoenn, and I just want them to be decent. Not ANOTHER luchador Fire starter and ANOTHER human woman in a fursuit. The owl is neutral I could take it or leave it.

I like them. They fit with the style and human/beast theme SM is going for perfectly. I'm not in love with any of them in particular but they're probably my favorite set of starters overall since GS. Way, way better than any fanart of hypothetical SM starter evos.
