What we've seen of the visual style really reminds me of Medabots and the early Digimon movies. I like it.

It definitely is a notable change though. I understand why fans of the existing Pokemon anime would be bothered by it.

Ash wasn't cucked out of a Z-Ring unlike the Mega Ring in XY/XYS. If Z-Rings allow for mega evolutions, then he could get a key stone too since the title for one of the last XYZ episodes imply he's losing Ash-Greninja.

They know it fucking exists when Matsuda redesigned OG Red for the 20th anniversary. Origins and Generations were referencing the GB games not the GBA ones. I don't understand.
