A more dyamic pose to make up for his fire not shooting out all the time would help. Quilava's pose isn't dynamic, but I think he looks fine. Probably because he's smaller and on all fours so you can see his whole colour palette. Typhlosion is just a big Quilava with no extra details who when standing up just looks like a big yellow guy.
