It's overall terrible but like with most long-running cartoons and anime I like to see how the show does animation- and development-wise.

XY easily blows most recent anime shows out of the water in terms of animation, and Sun/Moon's looking somewhat interesting in its approach.

Overall better production values than stuff that comes out of most other smaller/multitasking studios (looking at you, Toei) 2013-present, and definitely better than the ugly lines they did in BW.

Of course, if you view stuff like Madhouse or KyoAni or some basis, it would be harder to see.
