I'm thinking of installing CFW on my o3DS but it's the only console I have and I don't really want to waste money replacing a bricked console just before SM.
I've read the guide on github and I'm pretty confident I'll know what I'll be doing.
Is it worth it, do I just stick with Menuhax, by a Sky3DS?

Installing cfw has become as easy as never before , it's basically impossible to brick your ds unless you do really stupid shit (using NA files on EU system or something like that) during the process.

And it is well worth, piracy on 3ds is the easiest you've ever seen and you probably won't be able to still use homebrew once SM hits without CFW.

It's not so much a matter of difficulty but of lack of experience. The question is basically are there steps in the process that could expose you to risks if you are unaware of things like timing for example or a general chance to brick.

it's not hard. It used to be a very long process (4-5 hours) but now it's a lot faster (1-2h).

Both me and a friend did it for the first time without any experience (the old 5h guide) and we had no issues. You need to make sure that your battery is not dieing halfway through (just put the cable in) and that you use the right files... as I said don't use JP on NA or something or you WILL brick it. Everything else is actually pretty easy... "put this file on your sd card, hold this button during launch, select this in the menu, wait, backup that new file that is now on your sd card, etc"

I'd recommend to get a bigger sd card though, the 4gb stock one is pretty small (a game like pokemon needs 2x1.8gb of free space to install... so you'd be full after 1 game)
Just don't get scared when the screen shows weird colors anytime during the installation process.. that's "normal"

Okay, I know this may not be the best place to ask or may be a stupid question, but it's the best I've got after looking everywhere.

I've got a New 3DSXL on version 11.0, but I also have the OoT cartridge and a powersaves. According to that flowchart I should be able to load the OoTHax save onto the cart and install it that way, but every search I've made has basically said "LOL 11.0 unhaxable." Soooo, which is it? And if I *can* install OoTHax on 11.0, will there be any restrictions as to what I can do? I'm mainly interested in using PHBank and possibly playing the rom hacks of XY/ORAS for the improved difficulty and such. Will I be able to do that on OoTHax?

Sorry for the stupid questions, but any help here would be greatly appreciated.
