Why are those called chimeras in french?
The French translation isn't exactly known for its astounding accuracy.

Chimeras in French is also another word for beast. This has already been discussed.
Also good to know the french name holds the "expansion" name

Because the word "Ultra-Bêtes" can be understood as "Ultra-Dumbs" and since french people arne not dumb they decided to call them Ultra-Chimera, which sounds dumber
Absolutely
In fact, many people argue avoir this terme in the french forums (i am french)
And "chimère" does imply a fusion between different creatures

S-Spot me, skeeter...
>>28520595
who are you talking to ?
>>28520595
Chimère can also be used to describe a creature from a dream or out of this world (i.e. not existing).

Ultra beasts = Ultra bêtes
Bête = dumb
Dumb = insult
Insult = Lawsuit
>>28520554
hmm, who know?
I have no idea. Being that Chimeras are basically a bunch of shit from different things thrown together, they don't look like ones, they seem to have a very specific and individual design.
Unless...
>the Ultra "Chimeras" aren't actually chimeras, but PART of a final Chimera, that's the fusion between every single UB
>yfw
>>28520554
Beast in french is another word for dumb, they tried to avoid that
>>28520665
>Zygarde is a key factor for SM
>Zygarde in turn is a combination of smaller pokemon coming together to make a single hole
>The final story showdown is Zygarde 100% vs UB fully combined
....I kinda wish this would be true...

MEGAZORD
Because they're humans fused with monsters. Why else?
No it's not
because french people are fucking idiots and their translations terrible?
