Personally, I like the theory that Type: Null is the "cat that changes types through breeding" that was mentioned in one of the leaks. It's genderless, but so is ditto, so it's entirely possible it might have its own set of rules for breeding like ditto does. Then when it breeds with Pokemon of a specific type, the kid will be a Type: Null of a specific type. Makes sense with the overall theme of it, the name, and the fact that there is something about it special enough to have a Corocoro dedicated to it.
