As Bulbapedia said, the anti-meta type. It resists the three most used types during Gen V (and is immune to one of them), and also resists Bug because U-Turn users.

Pretty nice. The resistance to Bug was kinda shitty, but I guess they did that to keep Gardevoir relevant...

If anything, I wish they made some stronger AND faster ones. I am sick and tired of Dragons being the best all the time, getting inflated stats. Fighting and Dark both needed a nerf as well, so I was also happy about that. Turning Fire into a contender for a good defensive type was a nice bonus, and making Poison better was long overdue.

If Fairy had buffed Ice somehow, it would have been the cure-all for most of the type imbalances from gens 2-5.

But then gen 6 also introduced Talonflame and Mega Salamence, which fucked everything sideways that was weak to Flying. Now Flying is too strong.

Psychic should be immune to Fairies or deal super-effective damage

sylveon is in my top 3 pokemon.
