I've always liked this guy. Fucking Charizard, Garchomp, Marowak, Scizor and Lucario before they got Mega/Alola and Porygon2 before Eviolite.

With all this talk, which do you believe is more 'special snowflake'? Hybrids/Variations or Legendary Pokemon?

Personally, I am not fond of hybrids due to establishment in mechanics of how 1 plus 1 don't make a completely new creature, but rather a Pokemon that takes after mommy, although some are pretty creative when you look at them the same way as sprite-splicing.

When I make variations, I try not to go too far as to limit my depictions to an aesthetic level, with 0 changes to typing and statistics. A different coloured Smeargle, a Magmar wearing an eyepatch, something like that. Maybe in future, a colourful Wishiwashi?

As for legendaries, I feel that at the end of the day, unless your character is in a wide Roleplay, just go for it.

I don't think you'd get as much practice out of doing a contest as you would doing by the book drawing.

It's one of the big problems with drawing anime/manga stuff, sure you enjoy it a lot but you'd probably peak much faster if you started with realism and moved to anime/manga stuff when ready.

I don't really keep up with the anime, be i saw an episode on TV once where there were like, 4 or 5 greninja on screen at once, and they all looked exactly identical and all had the same voice and not only was it fucking retarded, i also couldn't keep up with which one was which from scene to scene

so i think it's completely reasonable for people to wanna give their pokemon little hair spikes, scars, scarves/necklaces/little accessories, or even tattoos, because it helps clarify which pokemon is which and keeps them distinct from each other and not boring

The way I actually draw her is more based on how I can see her animated-- I want her to be expressive and cartoonish in her ways, rather than close to how the anime looks. Even back when I did the first draft sketches of her in October or 2015, I had this in mind.

What I can say is that Seri is extremely cheerful for the shit she's been through. Most of that cheerfulness isn't optimism; it's ignorance. For her intelligence, she's really naive and intentionally blinds herself to how the world works. It's a bad decision on her part, but if you'd seen what she has, you'd do the same.

A long time ago I used to be part of one of those groups based around PMD.

The plots were alright but fucking hell weren't the deadlines absolute buillshit, especially for busy people or people like me back then who barely knew how to draw comics. I had enough bad luck to happen to decide to join when they were cramping up the deadlines to about one and a half weeks.
