Ideally, I am hoping for an Alola Form-esque evolution where the whole thing about "changing under the sun's rays" was an over-exaggeration to imply they're version-exclusive or will retain form based on when they evolve.

But yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if that were the case... you know what pisses me off though? There probably won't be any items, moves, etc. to let you permanently retain one of the forms.
