IIRC it was a glitch in Gen 1 that Psychic was immune to Ghost and Ghost was meant to be SE against Psychic. Ironically the only Ghost types in Gen 1 were dual Poison type which is also weak to Psychic.

Which begs my question why isn't Poison strong against Psychic and Fighting? Poisons would be bad for the mind and body or at least just the body.

That is kinda is a bit iffy once you realise there are canions, valleys and even lakes that were made by glaciers eating through bedrock. But that's more of an exception to the rules, isn't it? For the easiest example, see:

Pretty straightforward, water douses fire.
But at high enough heat, fire can evaporate water, so this can mean that both sides are super-effective against each other.
Not only that, pouring water over grease fire will only makes it stronger, so this situation means fire is immune (or at least resists) water.

Anyway, my point is that we should consider the most common line of thoughts, instead of delving too deep into what is and what isn't.
