Wasn't too crazy about it at first, but it's grown on me. Its description kind of makes it sound like it belongs in MonHun or some other franchise. Still, I don't get the dragon typing and I feel like I'll end up using Salandit (unless it turns out to be a shitmon), Litten (only if the leaked final evos turn out to be real) or alolan marowak before I go with turtonator

I just don't see it being good, even with shell smash. It's slow as tits, definitely has no recovery, and lacks powerful offensive synergy like cloyster, who is still only UU. Aegislash is mostly special anyway.

I was a superfan 2bh, I can still recite like 90% of the lore from g1. I payed attentiom to g2 but it didn't have the funding to be as good as the first. I got rid of my collection a long time ago though. It would be worth a ton now...

Huh. That's funny because I'd say it's one of the few Pokemon designs nowadays that actually somewhat resembles your traditional dragon. Long neck, reptilian, rough, and slightly scaly-looking. Not to even mention the mata mata, the animal on which it is partially based, looks like shelled dragon.

I'd like it if it weren't for the stupid cartoon explosion on its head and its back. It's absolutely appauling. Not to mention the ugly as fuck snout which doesn't really have anything to do with the rest of the design (it's not a soft-shelled turtle, obviously) besides adding onto just how ugly it is.

It's also the fact that Turtonator is so fucking angular. It looks like it's wearing a prop meant to look like a cartoon explosion, rather than having a shell that happens to be spiky/dynamic with explosive colors. Not to mention how god-awful the name is.

How can you be so uncreative? What, do you just want a literal Mata Mata turtle in the game instead? They took a feature and exaggerated it because 1) it fits the flavor of the pokemon (blasting fire all over the place) and 2)it makes it more fun because it's a fictional JRPG monster catching game, not a real-world wildlife catalog.

That's literally the point of it. It's all for the campy/fun aspect of the design and the game itself.

Looking forward to using it the most of all the current revealed Pokemon. Not fond of the possible kappa motif in its design, but I generally like turtle/tortoise designs. Fire/Dragon is another huge reason for me to like this thing, I can finally take advantage of that typing without having to use a mega slot (or rather, without having to use Charizard) and playing ubers, where the only other Fire/Dragon resides.
