Cynthia's Pt team was stronger, but even her DP team had one or two things for everyone. Her Spiritomb could pose an interesting challenge with Embargo, her Milotic can be difficult to bring down, her Lucario hits disturbingly hard with good coverage, and Garchomp Just Garchomp. Garchomp "You thought you were going to sweep the league with Palkia or Dialga" Garchomp.

Alder's team was as a whole a tad weak, but his Volcarona could set up on you if you wern't expecting it, and rape your face. Not entirely sure if I should even count him though, since he is technically a rematch.

Gary. Fire Red/Leaf Green team only. He had a well balanced team weakened slightly by the available shitmons at his disposal. If counting his rematch team, he stands proudly in this position even without that consideration.

Iris: In a world full of dragonspammers, Iris stands out as probably the best. She had enough variation on her team to cover the low level of dragon types available without spamming Haxorus, yet also actually complimenting her dragons. Haxorus hit like a truck.

Steven. Steven's problem stemmed largely from repetitive, common weaknesses and nonthreatening Pokemon. Metagross was the only thing that could actually hurt you.

Diantha: Her team was just plain bad. Tyrantrum and Mega Gardevoir were the only remotely threatening things on it. Everything else was just an absolute waste of space. Depressingly, Hawlucha can in fact be good, hers just isn't.

Lance: 3 inappropriately leveled Dragonite with craptastic movesets? check. Aerodactyl? check. Spams hyper beam because "it's the strongest move with the best base power!" like a four year old? Winner winner, chicken dinner. You win the award for most mentally challenged champion, Lance. You were absolutely outdone by twelve year old who actually roars at you when you fight her. At least Clair still believes in you.

Objectively, Cynthia.

Each Champion's level should be considered based on the games they are introduced. Completely neglecting Iris' advantegous Challenge-Mode that comes with B2, Cynthia is the only champion in which most of the players faced with most difficulty compared to the other regions' champions. 31 IV's, perfectly-balanced team, over-leveled until you reach her.

Will Blue ever redeem himself? He was the Champion once, you know? It feels wrong seeing him just be the Viridian Gym Leader. Something as simple a solution as Silver taking over his dad's old position as Gym Leader, and Blue retaking his place as Champion, with Lance moving down to Elite Four and Agatha retiring would've been nice. Also, I'd forgotten that Blue could totally have a Mega Alakazam, Gyrados, Aerodactyl, Tyranitar, or a Pidgeot on his team. An Alolan Exeggutor wouldn't be strange either. I also feel like Machamp might end up getting its own signature Z-Move.

There are tons of things you can do to his team, but again, it's highly unlikely we'll ever see him do anything in SM.

He had arguably the best team. Very balanced type wise, and with the exception of Pidgeot, each mon was one of the best of their respective type.
