gimmick pokemon must have a specific novelty quirk thats usually the central point of that pokemon's concept.

obvious exampels would be ditto, eevee, castform, unown, smeargle, kekleon, spinda...

doesnt mean they have to be a single stage normal type. slaking is a gimmick, rotom is a gimmick, vivillion is a gimmick...

Probably 70% of competitives are gimmicks.
