Do interesting playthroughs.

For example, after doing a mono-pure-water playthrough in X, I became bros with Basculin and Alomomola. After a normal-type run in FireRed, I liked Clefable. A Nuzlocke run can also serve this purpose well, but I haven't actually taken one to completion yet.
