If you haven't voted in previous threads yet, please do. The goal is to find /vp/'s general opinion
Give a score to all games
Rules are:
>Only vote games you have played and finished
>Give a rating from 0 to 10
>Vote either through text or using the template pic
>Be sincere, do not put a 10/10 to a game you believe is a 8/10 just because you think it's not being rated well enough by others and vice versa
Also, do not vote if you already voted.
Results will be posted soon in a coming thread.
While I won't advance results (to prevent influence), I can say that Sun and Moon are being rated very high. No generation launch game has got the score /vp/ expects from SM.
hey op how does it feel to have aspergers and have to make these big threads to get attention

feels good man
>Gen 1: 85/100
>Yellow: NA
Even with game breaking glitches/coding issues (i.e Speed = Crits) its a pretty good game for a first game.
>Gen 2: 89/100
>Crystal: NA
Fixed some shit, still some bugs/glitches lingering around, great sequel to the previous game.
>Gen 3: NA
>Emerald: 83/100
>Gen 1 RE: NA
Added Abilities and Natures to make breeding better. Ocean segment leaves the game for boring as no one likes water levels (The ocean is essentially the water ocean).
>Gen 4: 85/100
>Platinum: NA
>Gen 2 RE: 93/100
P/D/Pl made the combat more diverse (i.e Special/Physical split) which I think outshines the slowness of the game itself, which was later fixed in the Gen 2 RE games.
>Gen 5: 83/100
>Gen 5+1: NA
Shows off the linearity of the games too much (ie a circle and straight path to E4), but makes up for the story and characters. World itself is good, just not diverse.
>Gen 6: 87/100
>Gen 3 RE: 93/100
While better world building (still a circle, but still better than Unovas circle) better than previous gen but still a straight line to the E4 in the end, vast improvement to Gen 3 RE and makes the ocean segment better because of the updated engine, more enjoyable than last time.
>Gen 7: ∞/∞
From what they have teased us, it looks leagues better than what they have shown in the past. Feels like a full circle as it builds on the Pokemon world while also doing something different which they havent done at all since Gen 1.
>>28385704
This is scary, because I'm certain that many people will be disappointed now
>>28385852
Its about the individual games as well as the gens. Unless every game in the gen has the same score
>>28385524
I see you remembered to mention no double votes. Also hi
I'm not using IGN's scale, 5/10 = decent
>>28385524
>>28385911
>Its about the individual games as well as the gens.
Nigga version exclusive mons wont change the game.
>>28386127
I meant say, RS vs Emerald but I realize the person separated them now
>>28385911
Hi, man
My personal votes.
The reason why ORAS is so much higher then HGSS is because Jotho's a piece of shit, and it filled a void left from X and Y.
>>28386188
Just so you know, that SM score counts as a 10
>>28385524
>>28386188
Are you really over 18?
>>28385524
Changed up some thoughts on some of the games and even changed a few scores. I do like Gen V the most, but there isn't a Pokemon game I truly disliked. They all had a little something nice to offer.
So, I can only hope Gen VII has something great to offer too.
>>28386325
>plat < D/P
What?
>>28385524
here you go
>>28386325
Surprised that FRLG are the best games to you and SM are on par. Any reasons why?
>>28386540
Wholesome post.
>>28386517
I grew up thinking that Pokemon came from the anime and not the games, and was therefore, under the assumption that the games were nothing but shitty cash grabs.
Wasn't until Diamond and Pearl's release that I decided to see if I was wrong or not.

X/Y: 8.5/10
I'm a little harsher critique wise the older the game is, RBYGS get a bit of a boost, while newer games are held to a different stand. I feel this is pretty fair.
Overall ratings are pretty high but I've really at least enjoyed every game I've finished. Games I don't thoroughly enjoy I generally don't finish.

Thought Plat went over the top on the whole dimension shit.
>>28386968
Nostalgia mostly for FRLG, and I've played them recently and just had a good ol time leveling up a Paras and gettin cozy in the Sevii islands.
SM i like the look of because it seems to be upseting the status quo quite a bit, and it gives some of my favourite mons some variety

Votes are based in a Pokemon-centric format, judged only against other games. Graphics, soundbanks, and other hardware-dependent variables will not be judged, though style and soundtrack may well be.
R/B: 5/10:It had poor level scaling, atrocious mechanics, and frequently left a player with no idea what to do next. Enemy pokemon were almost unanimously held back by hilariously bad AI and builds. That said, the core soundtrack was very memorable, and it was the most open Pokemon game to date, which redeems it a bit.
Y: 4.5/10 Like R/B, but with a few extra fights, and generally a worse Pokemon distribution. It does get props for being the first ,and only game to advocate raising a team, because Pikachu was fucking awful.
G/S 6/10: Worst leveling curve, by far, with similarly shit Pokemon distribution. This is buttressed against one of the best core stories to date. Soundtrack was meh, but lots of new pokemon were super-cool, even if most of them sucked. "Empty kanto" meme.
C 6.5/10: Generally an improvement over g/s. Better pokemon distribution, and more details.
R/S: 6/10: Fairly boring region, with a notable exception or two. Gameplay made difficult by the absolutely crap-tastic hoenmons. The introduction of Contact/Non-contact brings attention to the weirdness of the current special/physical situation. That said, there was a general difficulty bump, even without factoring in Pokemon distribution. Plot was cool, if melodramatic. Soundtrack is overall meh, but the trumpets were nice.
E: 7/10: Most of the hard issues of R/S were fixed, and a nice spoonful of goodies were slathered on. Fug story cooler than base RS story, and the fix to Magma's hideout and Groudon's habitat were greatly appreciated.
>>28388835
DP: 5.5/10: The biggest flaw was slowness. Long animations, more dialogue heavy than previous gens, frequent detours to literally where, you name it. The plot was not dissimilar enough from R/S/E for me to not notice. Bizzarely, the climax of the game, the stretch from just after the sixth gym, to the eitgh, was super, SUPER fucking boring. Perhaps because we know shit is going down, but ignore it. Fire Pokemon meme. Decent soundtrack, and questionable designs, on average. What they lack in design, however, is made up for in usability, It is easy to build a ridiculously powerful team in-game here. This is good because the difficulty is otherwise another notch up from RSE.
Pt: 7.5/10: Basically fixed the worst issues present in DP. Post gym 6 to Gym 8 still lags a bit, but not quite as bad. Better Pokemon distribution, and they made the Giratina twist to the old story very interesting and memorable. As an added bonus, Giratina is comparatively awful in-game, meaning the rest of the game isn't a roflstomp if you use your uber.
B/W: 7. The story was a bit plodding, but fundamentally interesting. It was exciting having to use entirely old mons, even if that wonder was shattered the instant you learn tons of old mons were available if you could have just turned right. Bianca's story was actually pretty interesting at the beginning, even if it trailed off quickly. Okay soundtrack, designs were a pretty fair split between fuckawesome, and fucking awful. Difficulty was not noticable, Ghestis aside. As a side note, I found it amusing that GF was never really able to answer N's basic premise of "owning pokemon is wrong", except by having a criminal mastermind be secretly behind everything, even if N was a colossal faggot who makes even Wallace uncomfortable.
BW2: 9/10. Basic plot update to be somewhat more engaging and exciting. Fun way to traverse the region. Great pokemon selection, since BW/2 dropped the ridiculous premise of BW.

Have your thoughts about N changed during Bw2? Quite curious and I like your write up
>>28388835

X and Y: 3/10 Obviously rushed plot that had incomprehensible moments. Combination of Pokemon selection and difficulty made the game almost impossible to lose. The gaggle if incompetents that call themselves your rivals were fundamentally irrelevant and annoying. Their basic personalities made them unlikable boot-lickers. Plot was a basic ripoff of gen 3's, but unlike gen 4, they didn't even bother retexturing the plot. They just went with "The world will be destroyed because reasons related to legendary Pokemon". Character motivations were frequently lost, and the world was very bare-bones with little in the way of cool features and secrets. Music was overall nondescript, and Pokemon designs were again evenly split between really cool and fucking lame. Mega-Evolution is handled poorly, being seemingly the point of the plot up to Lucario Town, then dropped unceremoniously. It would be docked another point if I bothered to include Lucario Town in my rating.

It was nice that they included him, but consider that the Plasma only benefited from his return. Beyond that, he just repeated the same few sentences he learned at the end of BW, and was basically a christmas tree for references and free Pokemon.

Im 19 lol, but desu the older gens just didn't interest me as much until RSE, probably because I didn't play G1 & G2 nearly as much as I did with G3

Why the fuck did it autocorrect 'desu' as 'desu' jesus fucking christ
