/vp/ Showdown Tournaments

I like the idea, but organizing it doesn't seem fun.

I've always liked the idea of having our own League with gym leaders and whatnot, and if you beat all of them you can enter a yearly tournament.

/vp/ has little niche communities on Showdown that already do this. I believe there's also a Wi-Fi battling group. Could be fun to just have a big random group though.

All we'd need to do is join one channel/server and then an admin could set tournament mode. I think that's how it works. I have no idea how to go about making a server, I probably should have sorted that out before making a thread.

There used to be a /vp/ gym league but I believe it was cartridge only. Showdown is just more accessible and everyone can watch.

Okay, after looking into it a bit the easiest way to host a tournament is to use Challonge.

Problem is that you have to go through some steps to actually join and I'm guessing most of /vp/ would be too lazy to do so. You have to create a Challonge account and then link your Showdown account if it's not the same name.

Would you guys be willing to go through the registration process, or should I just quit being a lazy ass and try to host a server? The first few tournaments would be just fun stuff like Battle Factory or randbats because I'm sure not everyone has teams for every format.
