Was gen v the golden age for bug pokemon?
>>28371157
no
but homer simpsons yes.
>>28371157
Sure, if you like bad dsigns
>>28371157
What pokemon is that next to Larvesta?
>>28371226
eevee
>>28371218
>my opinion is fact.
>>28371226
agumon
>>28371157
This makes me wonder
Gen 1: known for poison types
Gen 5: bug and fighting
Gen 6: Fairy
What about the other gens?
A godsend compared to previous gens, there were many that you could actually use in game without them becoming obsolete by lvl 10-15.
You really don't get any better than centisteed.
>>28371301
"Many"?
Literally all of them have 450 + base stats
You could clear the game with an entire bug team eezy peezy
>>28371280
I guess, gen 2 introduced dark and steel, added quite a few ice types off the top of my head
gen 3 went a bit crazy on the dark types I think 2 grass/dark, 2 water/dark, 1 dark availalable very early that is common (barring zigzagoon).
Also grass got good treatment with Breloom, Cacturne, Shiftry, Tropius, Cradily.
Gen 4, idk. seemed to patch up mechanics and pokemon so it's all over the place (evolutions, physical/special split.
>>28371382
>what is Volcarona
>>28371271
Charmander?
>>28371464
but Volcarona DOES have 450+ BST
Pretty much
And then Gen VI came along and shat on them with only one (1) bug line introduced
>>28371434
Yeah, people always go with Dark or Steel for Gen 2. I don't think it had any type in overwhelming numbers, though it did have a lot of good Flying Types I think
>>28371244
Well mine is.
And the opinion of >>28371218 is horseshit.
No, Gen 2 was.
See: Shuckle, Scizor, Heracross, and Forretress. Honestly these 4 are the best 4 bugs
>>28371549
but with patterns which I think is pretty cool desu
>>28371806
>forgetting Yanma
Obviously yes
>>28371280
2 flying
3 dark
4 fighting or steel.
>>28371434
Gen IV was obviously Fire Types.
They even had a Fire E4 member.
And everyone remembers the Fire types from that region.
>>28372788
God damn it. Actually made me look. Forgot before platinum there were NO fire types
>>28372942
>Fire type Elite 4
>Team of 5 consists of the only 2 fully evolved fire types in the whole region, plus random shit
Platinum sure fixed Flint's problem.
>>28373036
Don't forget one of them is a starter, and the other is a random gen 1 pokemon
>>28371157
definitely
>>28371464
I mean, you can catch one early on in B2W2.
>Vikavolt
>Cutiefly
>Motherfucking WIMPOD
Based Gen 7 is making a strong case
>>28372164
I can dig this
>>28373051
Don't worry, I'll never forget that shit.
>>28371280
1: Poisons
2: Steel/Dark
3: Water
4: Garchomp
5: Bugs
6: fairy.
>>28372164
Holy shit, Gen 1, 2 and 5 has 19 Flying Types each.
And it's a bit of a cheat for Gen 1 because 5 of those flying types are Charizard.
Bugs my favorite type, which is part of why I loved Gen 5 so much.
So many bugs, and NOT ONE was the same old Bug/Flying type.
We got a couple of fun new type combos, and a Bug/Poison with a great movepool and ability.
Feels good.
>>28371218
>Galvantula
>Volcarona
>Bad designs
>>28371483
This. Was my main.
>>28371157
Yes.
>all those new bugs
>all of them look great and are amazing in-game
My favorite of them all is Durant, definitely. All that murder with Hustle after one Hone Claws, Truant Entrainment spammers can go suck a dick.
>>28371607
Glad we can agree.
>>28371280
hoenn is water.
>>28371280
>>28373210
>Gen 1 is known for poisons
>Doing a Nuzlocke on Blue
>Halfway through Moon Cave
>Already lost one to poison, almost a second
It's going to be a tough run.
Gen IV was definitelt the gen for Ground type. Garchomp coming along and becoming the metagame, Mamoswine being the only good Ice type and Hippowdon dominating weather wars. We even got a Ground type E4.
>>28371157
I never liked the Escavalier and Accelgor lines but I loved all the other ones.
>>28373210
It's difficultly with Gen 4 since a lot of its Pokemon are just evil of ones the first appeared in other regions but it had some of the few notable ice types. Weavile, mamoswine, froslass, abomasnow. Same for ground type
>>28371157
Gen 1: Poison
Gen 2: Bug
Gen 3: Water
Gen 4: Nothing remarkable
Gen 5: All shit designs
Gen 6: Fairy
>>28377799: faggotry
Yes it was, but this gen is going to be good too: Vikavolt, Wimpod evolution which is supposed to be finally the first dullahan evolved bug/water, Fairy/bug Cutiefly evo(s), maybe some Alolan forms for old bugs. I'm hyped as fuck
>>28378365
>dullahan
Lel I meant fully*
>>28377519
Water and grass, we got Cacturne, Sciftry, Ludicolo, Breloom, Roselia, Tropius, Lileep
>>28371280
out of the bugs pictured above, I really like 3 lines, but gen 7 is doing great for bugs as well.
gen 5 was a disaster design wise imo, especially for fighting types:
>fire/fire starter again
>useless unevolving duo
>3 stage durr line
>punker line
>power ranger line
>fighting horses
The only line I like out of this bunch is the scrafty line, bisharp is also alright. Are they thought to be sooo good fighting pkms?
>>28373210
>gen 1
>poison
like its fanbase
>>28378517
But anon biaharp is dark/steel
>>28371157
Yes, we've gone over this every time a gen 5 thread is made too.
>>28378544
fuck, my bad.
>>28371218
2016 and you kiddies are still hung up on "muh designs"
>>28373210
7: Ghost
