This is officially a comfy thread. Post comfy images, stories, or anything else, as long as it's comfy. I'll start us off.
I'm literally obese so everything I sit on is comfy.

Participating. How are you anons doing?
>>28372726
I'm doing alright, all things considered. Probably gonna sleep soon, though. I want to find time to progress further in Uranium, but it's been busy lately.
What about yourself?

Are you the photography anon from x threads ago?

Yeah man.

I mean, uh, yeah man.
sadly no new stuff.
>>28373543
Where can I go to find places like that? The woods near me are just dead leaves.
>>28373582
This is probably the sweetest question ever asked on 4chan.
>>28373603
Hey, these comfy threads are their own beast. There's something magical about them. I used to think that they were stupid until I participated in one recently, and I've been enlightened.

Comfy threads are what originally got me posting on /vp/, and 4chan in general after years of lurking. Pic related.
>>28373654
Damn, you're lucky as fuck that you get to enjoy that scenery. Thanks for all of these photos, they're pretty beautiful.

Aaaand saved. That's a ridiculously heartwarming story.

Thanks guys, it's comments like those that keep me shooting. I'll try and take some more tomorrow.
Final summer themed pics yo!
>>28374089
Thanks for always sharing, and happy shooting! I hope you can get some good ones when fall rolls around, too.
>>28373747
Thanks anon. Those are some of the fondest memories of my life, and it's probably why I'm still infatuated with Pokemon today.
So what's something you're looking forward to in Sun/Moon?
>>28374089
Thanks for the pics, you're doing god's work
I'll have to go to bed soon, and the thread might die then. It was fun either way. I hope tomorrow is a good day for you, comfyanons.

Who knows, we may meet again without knowing it in another comfy thread down the line. I honestly find that kind of welcoming, in a way -- the familiar faceless of 4chan.

I'm around the comfy threads a lot, so I'm sure it's inevitable.
Listening to Opelucid's White Theme makes me think of the bittersweet things in life. Shame people with Black never got to hear it.

Anyone got comfy BW/BW2 pictures that can also be wallpapers?
An anon already posted this link much earlier in the thread, but I figured that I'd let you all know that I've created a forum so we can have another place to chat, even when these threads aren't up.

Nothing makes me happier than finding this thread still here in the morning.
>>28377029
I remember the first time I heard the lake themes, I just stood there to take them in for a while. Gen4's soundtrack was so comfy.
>>28378550
I got you senpai.
>>28379068
Furret maybe, I've always been fond of Chikorita, as well.
>>28379737
I find Hoenn to be one of the comfiest regions for me, and that's one of the main reasons why -- you can get lost in Hoenn's landscape for hours just exploring, and that's some of my favorite experiences in Pokemon. (I don't mean literally lost, but... you get what I mean.)
Sorry I'm a total newfag but what does comfy ''means'' exactly?

welcome to the comfy thread! Simply look at the pictures we all have shared... they should make you feel extremely comfortable, cozy and also happy. We also like to share locations in which we and our mons would feel an intense serenity and have a good time together.
>>28382167
not much of a problem, there's plenty of meadows I can enjoy with my Ampharos and lots of lakes that I can explore with Lapras!

Comfy threads are for sharing nice, relaxing art and music.
Comfy is meme word though, so it's applied to a lot of things that may or may not fit.

>>28382205
but meadows don't walk, anon.
>>28382310
I agree with you with the fact that grass Pokémon are comfy, but if I had to pick one I think it would be Venusaur or Whimsicott!
>>28382123
Find a piece of Pokemon fanart, or maybe some music or a story, that makes you stop and think about the Pokemon world itself. It's a feeling of comfort and contentment, and maybe just a little longing. It's a kind of welcoming feeling, a relief after a long day dealing with all the not-so-pleasant things that go on in the real world, that draws us here.
It takes many forms for many people -- it can be just a cute picture of a favorite Pokemon, or a piece of music that takes you back, or something that makes you worldbuild a little in your head. What would you do, in the Pokemon world? Who would you travel with? What would you find there, what would your experience be? It's different for each person, but that's alright -- sharing our own individual ideas of comfy is what this thread is for.
And it's a place to voice the silly-sounding but very real want we feel sometimes to leave behind all the downsides to life here, and go to a place that seems so idyllic and have an adventure with amazing companions in a world that seems just a bit brighter than our own.
Or at least, that's what is is for me. I probably overthink things, and for others it might just be a place to share soothing fanart and music.
TL;DR share fanart/music/stories if you got them of relaxing Pokemon stuff.
>>28382310
I dunno, Shaymin's kind of a walking meadow hedgehog.
What's a pokemon you guys have really come to like because of Comfy threads? I've really come to love Furret and Torterra after hanging out here.

Huh. Literally the first comfy Go art ive ever seen. Seems to still be partly based in a region though, based on that Pokemon Centre
>>28382446
You nailed the comfy definite for me, Anon.
For me it definitely is all about the world-building and thinking about what I would do if pokemon were real.
I find the Vaniville Town theme to be the comfiest town music in the franchise.

Naw, just capturing it's light in digital form to make others happy (myself included).
Also just got out of work, and going to take some more pictures right now.
Always loved this track, the sound of waves probably helps. It just feels like sitting on the pier and staring at the sunset. You're tired, possibly exhausted from a hard day's work at the café, but now that all the clients are gone and you're closing down with your two best friends, you decide to take a moment, sit down on the terrace, and just let everything blow out of you with the gentle, warm breeze of summer.

Guys please no not again.. seriously it makes me depressed seeing these threads knowing I could've been born in the Pokemon world..
Relaxing under a tree at the age of 21 not a care in the world, all with my pokebro Furret laying behind my head as a comfy pillow and a kekleon laying on my belly both sleeping with me.
I'd enjoy the lovely sight of a little town in the middle of a field of grass and flowers and a bunch of slowly spinning windmills.
Kids playing with their Pokemon and wild ones with no worry in life already knowing they'll grow up with their friends and go adventure to bigger and better places just as I have. Many regions away from my home.
Please end me so I can know this world one day..
>>28383225
Get this with the people currently in your life, brother. I know they aren't cute Pokemon but focus on finding happiness in real life and do the equivalent things IRL.
I'd like a Milotic to surf around on as much as the next guy, or a Pichu to cuddle, or a Scraggy to look thug with, but...
>>28383149
I hope you get some good shots, anon! This one's cute.
>>28383162
I posted this one too, anon. Wonderful taste you have.
>>28383225
It's okay anon -- I know where you're coming from, I really do. When I first starting coming to comfy threads it genuinely caused me to feel existential, and even a little remorseful at the hand I'd been dealt, when such a wonderful place might exist somewhere. I grew up trying to stumble my way into the Pokemon world, with my friend -- we left notes in trees asking Mewtwo to take us to the Pokemon world, it made sense in our kid logic. I've grown out of the actively trying, but that faint wish -- I don't think it will ever go away.
But posting here, as time passes... it helps to bring a bit of closure to it, in a way. I cannot go to the place I most want to go (though the faint "but maybe, one day" will always be there!), but I can dream, and I can daydream. I can immerse myself in the games while I patiently wait for someone to use the new pokemon framework for unity to rig up a VR pokemon experience that I can just bliss out in. It's not the same. It's not what it could be -- but it is enough, for now.
But you aren't alone. And I understand. Sometimes our lives look really grim, but it's not always so bad. When you're in the thick of it, you can't even imagine a world outside of that heavy haze that whispers to you that things are never okay, that YOU aren't okay. But it eventually lifts. It always does, at least for a while. Sun and Moon are coming soon, and it looks like the comfiest set of games yet. Take heart, friend.
>>28383372
This, too. Take a step back and evaluate if the people you care about are returning that care and friendship. And in he meantime -- you can always vent here. There's a comfy threads proboards if you want to vent when there's no comfy thread here, too. It'll be alright.
>>28383499
>>28383372
Guys it's not as easy as you say, a lot of my friends schedules don't match my own, so getting together is a nightmare.
Most of my family besides my dad and brother live out of state so that's out of the question too.
Mygfand I barely go out since working hours are hell too on both ends.
I hate my 9-5 job and come home tired every day without any fun.
I just.. want to live comfy with my bros.
>>28384443
This artstyle is cute.
>>28384837
It's by this artist: http://luce-in-the-sky.deviantart.com/
Dunno what it is about their art, but I've never seen anything quite like it before. It's got a really soft feel to it.
>>28385010
It reminds me of the illustrations to those children's books where the world seems infinite and there are no rules.
>>28384834
I don't have any local friends to be honest, everyone I know is online -- side-effect of living in a backwater town, even seeing people playing Go when it first launched was rare out here. I really get that craving to just leave it all behind and go off adventuring in a place that actually seems welcoming, compared to this interminable shell of an existence it feels like we lead sometimes. It's draining to physically exist sometimes, especially dealing with all the crap life dumps on us. Your feelings are valid, anon.
I hope you find more time to spend away from the drudgery of the day-to-day, together with the people you care for. You deserve that. Everyone does, honestly.
>>28384892
I love this thing so much.
>>28385010
Thank you anon! I'll check them out. I agree with what >>28385042 said, it does make me think of old storybook illustrations from when I was younger. I miss reading sometimes, but I never have the time, and there's so much mediocrity to sift through to find the gems.
>>28385074
>I miss reading sometimes, but I never have the time, and there's so much mediocrity to sift through to find the gems.
Exactly my thoughts on reading. When I find a good book, I'll read it non-stop and finish it in a sitting, but most of the books out there seem to be dreck. I feel like there's either YA fiction, Tolkien ripoffs, or dime-store-quality sci-fi.
>>28385327
50 Shades-y stuff, really badly done YA fiction in any genre, mostly-fabricated "true stories"/ biographies that might as well be historical fiction, and the occasional holy grail of a book that's actually worth the money. I've been rereading older books lately, but I can only read the same books so many times before I can recite them verbatim from memory. I think the last book I bought was honestly a butterfly identification picture book because I haven't seen anything I want to buy in ages.
I loved the Canalave library, as an aside. Little world/lore-buidling things like that are some of my favorites.
Got some pretty nice pics, I think you guys are gonna like em'. Just gotta do some minor editing.
These threads have inadvertently inspired me to try Pokemon I never would have considered raising before -- Nuzlockes help, of course. I never would have thought BASCULIN of all things would become my new pal.

>>28385550
There's something that I love about libraries in general, especially vast, ancient ones with vaulted ceilings and the whole shebang. There seems to be so much wonder and mystery, but also coziness in them. When I remember my elementary school library, I think of it as a magnificent room when it was probably small and unremarkable.
This is a great thread.
Anyone have any comfy Pokemon wallpapers set at dawn?

All these bookfriends, yay! LibraryTech-Anon here and I support this discussion. I myself am a sucker for contemporary, horror and poetry. But I'll read anything.Currently trying to learn some stuff about Buddhism because when I restart my librarytech program next September I want to try going to the many buddhist temples in that city. I'm from a farming community turned suburb and we have nothing here except for your standard catholic/christian churches.
I wish one of these days we'll get an official pokemon lore/history book. Even an art book would be lovely and amazingly comfy. I kind of like the idea of each professor having their own field notes/journals and being able to buy those as well.
>>28385736
This is oddly haunting, yet beautiful. I love it.
>>28385905
I'd love an art book. Seeing the artists at GF be able to depict the beautiful places of the games without the limitations of a console would be amazing.
>>28385550
Dude, read the space trilogy by c.s Lewis. The first book is "out of the silent planet".
hello friends.
>>28385789
>>28385905
>>28386032
I'll read anything if I can stand to continue reading it, but I really do love horror and mystery works like air. Anything with a supernatural tinge usually grabs my interest as wellalong with children's books because man sometimes we all need some whimsy in our lives.
I'm also thirding the sentiments here for a Pokemon Artbook. We've all seen some of the great pixel scenes from FRLG, the concept art of regions and stuff -- I'd ADORE a tabletop compilation of all of that. They should have made one for the 20th anniversary.
>>28386153
C.S. Lewis made a space trilogy? Sign me up and thank you so much!

>>28386996

>>28387795
Not that anon, but Alolan Exeggutor has made me fall in love with this silly tree all over again. It might honestly be my favorite Alolan form, even.
>>28387322
I relate to that. Alola looks like it might be one of the comfiest regions yet, and I just genuinely can't wait to sit down and start seeing what it's like. I haven't been this excited for a region specifically... ever, now that I think about it. November is still so far away, it's torture.
>>28388111
When I and my boyfriend saw it first time we were so happy that Exeggutor could have his "revenge"! It's a special mon, especially to my boyfriend, and I felt like it deserved something more. I hope that another of my buddies besides of Ampharos and Lapras, Golduck, will be taken out of the forgotten-mons-zone... if not he will have forever a special place in my heart ^^

This is probably a little out of the blue, but if you guys have some downtime this weekend, you should watch Kimi no Na wa. It's got some super comfy backgrounds and it's directed by the guy who did 5cm/s. There's a better rip on nyaa, but if you can't into torrenting and can stomach low quality here's a youtube link that'll probably be taken down by tomorrow. Best movie I've watched all year, animated or otherwise, I think it's something a lot you guys would like.

>>28388553
Man, now I'm hoping for an Alolan Psyduck.
>>28386996

>>28388553
well I know that Golduck is based on Japanese monster Kappa... In Alola would it maybe look more "tiki"?
>>28388776
Corsola is just so cute, I would love to play with him at the beach all day long... When I was travelling through Kalos I wanted him as a buddy in my team, but then I met up with Ducklett and it was instant love... I really have a weak spot for water mons!
Love these threads
>>28388888
Quads confirm. You have excellent taste anon, I love Iyashikei kind of series that are meant to soothe and heal the viewer. I run a bootleg movie night now and then for friends and I will grab this off nyaa and show it next time we get together. You're welcome to come as well, naturally.
>>28388918

>>28376838
That's fucking sick yo.
>>28370356
Did Johto have the best aesthetics?
>>28379737
Hoenn is comfy as fuck, everything after you surf that one little stretch of water east of Mauville feels exotic as fuck. That whole half of the region is gold. I also like the area around Fallarbour a lot, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to be as popular with artists as the areas around Fortree seem to be. I'd also like to see more art in Sootopolis and Pacifidlog and even Fortree itself.
>>28390881
Not OP, but Johto is one of the comfiest regions to me.
>>28390949
Exploring Hoenn is still one of my favorite things after all these years. It just feels so BIG and wide-open. And I understand your love for the area around Fallarbor, it's tragically underrepresented in art most of the time. Fortree is probably the town I'd most want to live in, just off innawoods, in a treehouse home with my Pokemon friends, exploring the routes around me -- and if I need anything, Lilycove is pretty close-by, all things considered. It's great.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G68BkEebjLo
Anyone have good comfy art of towns like Vermillion, Slateport, etc? Just some good seaside stuff. Been a rough day and I miss the ocean.
>>28391062
I understand why artists focus on routes 119 and 120 though, it's probably the area that leaves the biggest mark on first time players. The impact everything has on you there is insane, it's like you're suddenly in a whole new region.
If I had to choose a town to live in I'd probably go with Pacifidlog. Which I also think is lacking in art. Now that I think about it, there's a lot of cool places in Hoenn that are tragically underrepresented in art. The abandoned ship, the quest for the gigas, the whole ocean area after Lilycove, just a lot of things really.
>>28391126
I got you anon, I'll start dumping.
>>28391216
Absolutely, once you cross the river from Mauville it's like a whole new region and it's just... iconic, I guess? Hoenn is just so wild, it really resonated with me and it still continues to do so.
>>28391308
Thank you for this.
>>28391527

very accurate
Thanks, anons. I needed this thread. Life's been stressful lately, and I don't know where I'm going. My outlook on life, and humanity has been very negative as of late. This thread helped me remember the beauty in life. It sounds corny, right? But really. All of these childhood memories coming rushing back. Remembering all of the good times. Shit, you guys have me tearing up a little bit. You've given a touch of color to my grey world. It's the little things, like this comfy as hell thread. Thanks guys, and I hope tomorrow is a great day for us all!

Comfy threads are really something special. The people here are great, the images are great, and the stories are great. It's sad that these threads are so infrequent, I'd love to get to know you all.

This is objectively the comfiest cutscene.

Anon I looked so hard but I could only find a tangentially related pic of a cafe.
>>28393287
Thank you for looking hard, Anon! I love this image. Ah well, maybe in a few years when we get remakes people will make more art of it.
>>28391840
Sorry I stopped, I had something come up real quick. I can dump more now.
>>28393132
There's actually a forum some anon set up yesterday as a spinoff of comfy threads if you want to stop by.

I relate to that, it's been a bad time here as well, and sometimes the world is just... really grim. These threads help me remember that it's not all bad, though! And honestly, I think they bring out the best in all of us. Often it's so easy to be cynical and jaded, whether it's out of bitterness, or just self-preservation. But I can let down my guard, just a little, at times like this -- and that means everything in the world to me.
You are all wonderful.
>>28393376
Here's hoping! If I ever DO find something I'll be sure to post it whenever one of these threads come up on the offchance you see it.
>>28393425
Aww, thank you so much Anon! I appreciate it. I would be posting pictures here, but the laptop I'm using is so broken I literally can't save or upload photo's.
I'm also leaving /vp/ soon so I won't have the rest of Sun/Moon spoiled for me. I've never actually gone into a game fully blind before, so I want to try it kind of this time. Next game I'll hopefully be able to go into the games completely blind except for the starter final evo's.

i know this isn't a sun/moon thread but no thread has gotten me more hyped for sun/moon than this.
i haven't played a pokemon game in a long time, and while its sad that theres no real pokemon world to explore and have comfy adventures with pokemon and friends, at least pokemon exists to give me a world to immerse myself in, even if only for a few hours a day or whatever.
excite to explore alola with you all soon.
>>28393532
oops, excited i mean.
>>28393532
I'm right there with you, anon -- I haven't stopped playing because I'm truly hooked, but even despite that, Alola really and genuinely has me excited for what's to come from the series. It's shaping up to be so great and to be so comfy -- I can't wait to get in there. Look forward to seeing you there!
>>28370356
Possibly the comfiest pic to open with ever, OP. Great job.

That moss is healthy. Love the stalks, too.
I ache for this life. Can you imagine how amazing it would be, traveling the pokemon world on bike with just your Pokemon companions?Gives me Kino no Tabi vibes.

Me too, me too. I would kill for a regular "what if pokemon was real" general, but I made one and it only lasted about 24 hours. It also has to be closely monitored for it not to devolve into roleplaying. Ah well, I guess /vp/ just isn't ready for it yet.
Dumping cute art from 茉莉 on pivix.

Oh shit, we hit image limit. New thread?
>>28393981
Yeah, I didn't realize that when I started posting, whoops. Saving 'em all for later. Thanks to these threads I have a good 4gb of just Pokemon fanart chilling in folders on this hdd. Not a bad thing, though. Love this song, also.
>>28393979
Sorry I didn't get more out to you, I went hunting for fresh material and got sidetracked diagnosing why imagines wouldn't load for me on pivix.(Turns out pivix doesn't like if you send custom referrer headers.)
>>28393703
Don't thank me, thank someone who posted it in the last comfy thread X days ago. It was such a beautiful image I had to save it, and I never save images.
In other news: new thread here: >>28394028
>>28394040
That was probably me, come to think of it. Also, thanks so much!
>>28393984
Too late, but we already get a lot of reposted images as it. It's best if comfy threads don't become a general.
