i wouldn't be surprised if palossand or vikavolt were totems too, considering how they interact with their prevos.

i'm expecting the totem pokemon to simply have a stat raised. so raticate would have boosted attack or defense. and then there are waves of lower level rattata that join the battle.

If we're thinking there's a totem for each type, it gets kinda muddy when we start thinking of duel types.
Like, Raticate and Gumshoo are both normal. But Raticate is dark too... So?
