Is there a special way to train up gyms? I takes forever to make any progress especially when the pokemon in the gyms are over 1500. You seriously only get 100-500 and you need 4000-10000 depending on the gym. Not to mention the fact you need a shit ton of revives to keep your pokemon able to fight.

I'm not sure of the actual reason why it works, but I read that dewgong crashed people's phones like grimer does. So I decided that the best thing to test was just leaving the dewgong model on screen until I got closer to the grimer and then trying to catch it.

It's worked the one time I've tried it, GF got mad because she doesn't have a dewgong.

Sort of. You put in a 15-30 CP magikarp in a gym and use a 10CP magnemite (works best with one that has spark and discharge) and then you kill the magikarp over and over. Obviously this works much faster with 2 or more people but it's an easy way to get a gym to max level fast. I did it today with a friend and it took about 10 or so minutes to get to max level.

It doesn't work that way, dumb dumb. CP, IVs or base stats DO NOT become higher, no matter how high level your pokemon is when it evolves. CP is a descriptive number, a combination of current pokemon level, its base stats and IVs, all of which stay fixed upon evolution, exactly like in the main games (though, unlike in pogo, you have level up most pokemon to trigger the evolution).

Evolve first and then power up. Save those 4 candies, in case you get something like Bite/Bulldoze Arcanine. You'll have to catch 1 Growlithe less for the next evolution.

You know what I really want in this game? Some way to tell if the egg I'm working on is going to hatch something I already have or not. I'm fucking tired of getting nothing out of 5k eggs that's common shit I can already catch. Getting an Eevee out of a 10k is the biggest fuck you.
