Well Null itself is like a chimare/homunculus. It's made from various pokemon parts and it has the Arceus symbol under its helmet which which might allude that it was created from the powers of Arceus, but under the hand of man and via Alchemy and the symbol might be like the tattoos the Homunculus from FMA had.

Magearna also could be seen as a homunculus or a mechanical holem given life and empathy from the Soul Heart, which could be like the Philosopher's Stone.

Ultra Beasts are called Ultra Chimeras in france. I don't know, but I got a theory that all the Ultra Beasts are failed experiments of human transmutation, perhaps to resurrect a loved one? Perhaps Aether needs the box legendary to complete it. Lillie and Gladion also strike me as kids raised in confinement.

I just don't think Gamefreak will introduce an entirely different new "type" of beings in nature with no relations to humans and pokemon. That opens too big of a floodgate.

Okay, so I've got some ideas how Ultra Beasts might work. While they don't have a typing they might still have stats and abilities. Instead of a typing they have their own set of weaknesses, resistances, and immunities, and they could still be used in battle, just with summoning from their dimension instead of being stuck in a ball.

This is just speculation.

I'm inclined to believe that UBs are Aether's alchemical fuckups. Neither human nor pokemon, likely a result of Aether being too ambitious. Maybe 01 is Lillie, or a failed early attempt at resurrecting/cloning her.

UBs are powerful abominations that don't fit in anywhere, they probably have their own pocket dimensions to hang around in, hence the wormhole. Anime Deoxys had its own pocket dimension and came out of wormholes too so it wouldn't be a first.
