Do you name your mons? /vp/?
>>28292002
I usually don't.
>>28292002
Yes.
Depends on my mood. I never nickname my mons the first playthrough of a new region though, it makes it harder to remember everything's names.
>>28292002
Yes. I name them all. And I have autistic naming systems, like all fossil Pokemon are named after ancient civilizations.
Never, I like the original names.
>>28292095
like Plato, Socrates, and so on?
>>28292002
Yes
Mostly because intermixing nicknamed and non-nicknamed mons gives me autism for some reason.
I nickname them if I intend to keep them on my team for ay least 2 gyms. So the elemental monkies you get in BW get a pass. The unnamed mons in my party are primarily just revive fodder.
In PMD I nickname every mon I recruit.
>>28292002
Yes, i usually name them after vidya characters that i like.
>>28292095
Not exactly. I meant the actual civilizations, so names like Rome, Olmec, Egypt.
Although I like your idea of using notable ancient people. I might rethink this.

Sorry

I always name them. Usually people-names that range from heroic to classy. Like my Azumarril named Hoss or my Gardevoir, Engrid.
I named my ElectrodeArmstrong.
>>28292002
i nickname every pokemon i catch, and then if they're something i already have i wondertrade it away
a lot of the nicknames are just whatever i think of off the top of my head though so they're mostly pretty terrible

>no arms
>armstrong

when I like 'em

When playing a game for the first time I won't give most of my Pokemon nicknames, replays always, unfinished ROM hacks no.
Whenever you nick name a pokemon you get emotionally attached to it.
