Sorta agree with OP here. Poliwhirl is a really great design that they fucked up with poliwrath and politoed. For no reason. They could make Poliwrath better like they did with Feraligatr but for some reason they have a hardon for Politoed and its retarded design.

As someone who can say poliwhirl has been their favorite pokemon since I was 4, I don't really know. For me poliwrath's scowl ruins the friendly look of poliwhirl. With politoed I simply think it looks too different from the other polis, even then it's nothing special design wise.
