Favorite and least favorite starters

Favorites:
3) Empoleon and Torterra.
I can't really choose between these two. Sinnoh starters are truly my favorite trio. Both were phenomenal bros, not really much to say about them. I think I like Empoleon's design more, but then again I have fond memories of wrecking everything with Torterra's EQ in Diamond.
Disclaimer: I adore Infernape as well, especially after watching the Sinnoh anime, but I've only picked Chimchar once in a hack game so I don't have that strong feelings about it.
2) Typhlosion
I don't even consider its design that good, but he alongside Ampharos was a part of my killer duo in one of my most memorable runs ever (HG). Plus I liked Cyndaquil the most of the Johto starters before the remakes came out, so also nostalgia.
1) Swampert.
I admit, I didn't like its design that much at first. Didn't hate it either, I just preferred some of my earlier starters. I was quite disappointed in seeing what my Mudkip evolved into in Emerald, but decided not to leave my friend just because I like its design less now. Teached him Surf and EQ, and oh boy, he became a beast. I don't even remember the rest of my team, but I'm almost sure I managed to beat E4 that time and Swampert joined the group of my favorite mons and never left.
Eventually, when I came back to Pokemon a few years later, I started to like its design way more than before.

Least fav - Empoleon. Don't like the design, I think both a penguin and a water/steel type could be done better. Had a hard time playing him, always seemed like a bit of underachiever. And English name sounded cool until I realised what it's a portmanteau of. Seriously, historical characters should be kept of from Pokemon, especially the more controversial ones.

Fav - Sceptile. Grovyle is simply brilliant, and while I was a bit underwhelmed by the design of final form, it grew on me, kinda similar reactions to OP with Swampert. The best thing though was the type of pokemon he turned out to be - his sprites tend to be static as fuck, he's depicted as bottom heavy, maybe not as much as the grass starters before him, but certainly a wall type. Meanwhile what you get is a lightning fast killing machine, sweeping everything not resistant to him before they can touch him. Well, at least in single player. And mega is great when it comes to design, fixing most things I didn't like in regular one. Abi could be better, but it makes him more of a doubles material. Could use a better movepool though.

3. Greninja: I love it's sleek design. Its protean ability is amazing and super helpful in battle. One of my favorite water types.

2. Delphox: I love the wizard theme. Mages have always been my favorite RPG class to play, and Delphox embodies that Mage archetype so well. It reminds me of so many of my favorite magic-wielding characters, like Gandalf, Dumbledore, Myrtle Snow, and Vivienne.

1. Serperior: There was a time when I stopped playing Pokemon. I've played since Blue, but stopped after FireRed. Wasn't too interested in gen 3 and even less so in gen 4. Pokemon Black/White was the gen that really motivated me to return to Pokemon, and it was all because of Snivy. Its smugness, sleek and unique design was enough to make me go buy a ds lite in 2011. Been playing Pokemon ever since. I ended up loving Serperior and many of the Unova Pokemon. That's why it'll always be my favorite.

My 3 Least Favorite

3. Swampert: I'm just not into bulky Pokemon in general. Gen 3 is my least favorite gen when it comes to starters. Not really a fan of Blaziken or Sceptile either. This is when I started losing interest.

2. Torterra: It's big and bland. This design just doesn't appeal to me whatsoever. I don't care for it. To me, it lacks personality and style.

1. Emboar: I adore gen 5, but this is the one starter I just don't like at all. If it weren't for this one, gen 5 would be my favorite gen for starters. It's big, bulky, ugly, horrific stat spread....eh doesn't suit my tastes at all.

Overall, my favorite gen for starters is 6, and if the leaks are real, it's definitely gonna be 7 (I love all 3).

Least favorite gens for starters are 3 and 4.

1 is ok, 2 is better, and 5 is higher up.

I've gotten used to it by now. Honestly I don't care. I'd rather have "shit taste" then pretend to like Pokemon I don't.

but yes, some of us genuinely like these Pokemon. I'm just glad game freak decided to go with these designs. there's something for everyone that way

I don't really dislike any of them. I probably like the Froakie line the least overall. Just has zero appeal to me, I guess Greninja is good in battle and has some good porn, but that's it.

My favorite is the Pikachu line.

The missed opportunity notwithstanding, I think it was the best of the starters that came from the 5th gen. I also really like otters, so that helps, too.

Sure, it's pretty weak, but I really like the idea of a wizard Pokemon. I like the evolved forms of the other gen 6 starters, but Delphox was the one I went with first, so it gets a spot on my list.

My top three favorites are:
3. Charmander: I really like the Kanto starters (especially the bulbasaur line considering I picked Bulbasaur first) but I don't know. The Charmander line just grew on me throughout the years. After I used him for the first time and leafgreen I used him in every game after wards every time he was available to be chosen Ingame. Charizard has also won me a lot of battles and as easily become one of my favorite Pokemon.

2.Popplio: yup. I said it. A Pokémon pretty much everyone hates and isn't even available yet. I really don't get it. when The starters were first revealed on May 10th from there on out there was nothing but absolute HATRED for this Pokémon, and it still grows with its leaked final evolution being attacked as well. But I mean it was just absolutely, merciless, unnecessary hatred. When a new Pokémon game is announced usually always know exactly who I'm going to pick as my starter. And that Pokémon just so happened to be Popplio for sun and moon. I love it , I like its design, water types are my favorite, and I am genuinely excited to use it.

1. Treecko: MY FIRST (STARTER) POKEMON EVER. My first partner Pokemon, the Pokemon pretty much responsible for really getting me into Pokemon at all. Easily the best grass type Pokemon ever. I love the entire evolution line (especially grovyle). I'll be honest, I nearly shit myself when I found out Sceptile got a mega evolution (which was a dragon type no less). Sceptile absolutely kicks ass and It teared through the elite 4 with no trouble at all. Overall I love this Pokemon. And it is so underrated it's not even funny.
