I don't think it's a good design, but I don't think it shouldn't exist.

I like sandygast, but not what it evolves in to.

Pretty much.

Sandyghast has a lot of cool visual references in its favor, like its sheet ghost body shape and the shovel sticking out of its head like a dead mon. If you were going to make a sandcastle ghost there's no better way.
It's kinda cool that the shovel became a radar but its not as visually appealing or as clever.

Would prefer if they ditched the shovel. It looks OK on Sandyghast but just doesn't look right on Palossand. Also, get rid of the random seashells or whatever, they're a little too much.

I want to like it but those two details put me off.

I like it and I think it doesn't deserve the hate it gets. It's a fun clever way to make a haunted castle Pokémon without making it a sentient building.

They are the best Pokemon so far imo
