It's a nice proof of concept but all the constant crashing is just pissing on my bonfire tbqh lads. I guess at least in a few months it'll probably be close to functional if they keep up the pace, which is cool

I think that it's the JIT because before it was implemented I was able to play for more than 2 hours without a single crash.
>>
>>28272629
the game consistently freezes a few minutes after i load my save. the freeze goes away only if you are on the over world screen (no menus, no battles, no pc). i find that i have to run around randomly for a few min until the freeze happens and passes. afterwards i no longer get any freezes/black screens. maybe the same thing could be happening to you as i'm also playing rutile. as for crashes, there are certain trainers that will cause crashes and can't be fought. there is one unskippable one that you will need to use pokehax to grab all the badges and surf past, then remove all the badges and delete surf. for horde encounters and horde battles against team magma you need to have hardware rendering turned off until the fight starts and the first pokemon is sent out. afterwards you can turn it back on or else you will crash each time you try and start the fight.

I'm an absolute scrub when it comes to emulation, I've only tried out 3DS emulation in the last two days, but I've tried switching the CPU JIT option both on and off in the options to play both ways and I still get the crashes pretty consistently

>>28272731
The thing is, there doesn't seem to be any consistency to these crashes like with what you're describing. Sometimes it will be fine for a good 30-odd minutes before it crashes, or something random will trigger it (closing the PC crashed it the first time but has worked perfectly every time since). The most recent crash happened after about 20 minutes of play, after facing the twins on the bridge after Petalburg Woods and triggering an evolution cutscene.

It's still playable, it's just a little frustrating to have to save after every single wild encounter/battle and before entering any new area. Just wanna play some 1080p 3D Pokemon with a few friends but the roadblocks to getting there are killing my vibe

At or faster than full speed as in webm but it depends on the CPU. Shame about the crashing.

>>28272867
Another anon.
It just never freezed at all in the past (like as in the black screen and then restart the emulator except in random battles at a very low rate. Now it crashes much more frequently)
>>
>>28272867
the emulator only uses the cpu from what i hear, and different cpus can affect the amount of crashes/freezes you get. i'm on haswell i7 and i find my freezes happen at consistent times. i also had a dll error when patching converting rutile from cia to 3ds initally. did you have such an issue? i had crashes like wild and it improved greatly after i downloaded the dll and reconverted my rom. also fyi there fisherman north of petalburg, the lady in red north of slateport, the female trainer east of mauville, and a few other trainers i cant remember consistently crash and need to be skipped.

the red bitch north of slateport is the one that can only be skipped by using pokehax to edit your save, add in all the badges up to the one with surf (adding one the surf one won't work) and editing one of your pokemon to know surf so you can surf around her and avoid her. otherwise there is no way to progress.

Is there an issue with the sendspace links? 'cos I know that pomf is run by someone off /g/ or some shit so they might have gotten their server compromised or blacklisted. Pretty sure I don't have a virus since I scanned my computer and it came up clean on MBAM.

All the files are taken off wwylele (one of the citra devs https://github.com/citra-emu/citra/issues/created_by/wwylele) http://tieba.baidu.com/p/4767059788
To read their links they post something like
/ s / 1qYiuCNU
You remove the spaces
/s/1qYiuCNU
Then you add it to
pan.baidu.com/s/1qYiuCNU
It's some kind of weird google protection I think to prevent the search engine getting the link.
Anyway that's the original set of emulator files. People kept complaing the baidu links didn't work so I tried to host them this time.

>>
>>28273519
Anyway.
There's also ALWAYS a risk someone will include a virus anyway (although in this case I think it's simply a case of pomf getting blacklisted...) But you can build from the source code
https://github.com/citra-emu/citra/wiki/Building-For-Windows
Have to git merge the pull requests. Since wwyele includes what things they merged you can build the same thing using the instructions on the github.
>>
A shame XY doesn't work yet, but ORAS being playable is interesting, despite it's current bugs. Easy way to play randomizers/difficulty hacks is always nice.

How fast does Gates to Infinity/Super Mystery Dungeon run? More interested in playing GTI than SMD as that's the only one I don't personally own yet.

The GPL is a good thing though faggot.
In any case I can get around half speed in OoT3D with this build on my relatively-shit computer, which is pretty impressive.
By this time next year most games should be fully playable for most people. It shouldn't be any more demanding than Dolphin
>>
>>28273770
if you can't afford a 3ds you probably don't have a good enough cpu to run pokemon. apparently it's very cpu intensive since the models used in game are high res and recycled in pokemon go and the console games. i don't think there is any gpu support at the moment.

But you know it can only use one core. So you have 3 cores sitting around doing nothing which is probably going to compromise your gaming until they can fix it to use multiple cores.

>>
This actually runs worse than the 2 days ago build for me.
>>
>>28273819
i'm running it on a haswell i7 and it's just playable with crashes only occurring with horde/triple battles (fixed by disable hardware rendering before the match begins and turning it back on after the pokemon are sent out). as for freezes/blackscreens i probably get one every hour or two. i don't think ram matters.

>>
>>28274019
Yes, it's playable, but unstable.
Fps go over 60 for little bits even with Vsync on, sometimes you can have drops below 30, there are some weird black outlines and minor graphical glitches, there are some random black screens and some bugs that can crash the game.
But yeah, on a good processor and saving often you could play it just fine.
>>
>>28274033
The 2 days ago build was compiled by gdmk → optimised for the various processors.
This build was compiled by wwyele.
'technically' it should be essentially be the same thing. Is it an FPS or crashing thing?

>>28274019
The >>28272934 webm is me running it on an i7 6500U with the scores as obtained http://cpuboss.com/ only thing you don't see here are the random crashes. Basically it's really fast but also crashes a bit. I swear that I remember I played the past literally playing for 2 hours with no crashes (on the gdmk builds) but who knows if it's rose tinted lenses, JIT bugginess or gdmk or something.

>>28274076
>saving often you could play it just fine
Not him but hopefully it's just 'a phase'. I distinctly remember Pokemon XD first running at 15 FPS, then a few years later it randomly crashing on me all the time unless I disabled a core upon which it reached like 25 FPS and it took years YEARS for Dolphin to work flawless even as I nervously save stated every 5 minutes.
>>
>>28274123
*
>'technically' it should be essentially be the same thing
gdmk might still have made some slight modifications though, none will ever know.
>>
>>28274123
>Is it an FPS or crashing thing?
Fps. The overworld movement in Littleroot was smooth in the other build but slowed down noticeably for in this one.
Battles also ran full speed and required Vsync with the old one but now have fps drops.
Some little things did improve, like the transition from interior to exterior and the very beginning of the wild encounters now being more fluid.
Crashes appear to have stayed the same as before.
I'm running it CPU only on an i7 4770k.
>>
>>28274195
That is so weird.
My FPS got boosted by like 10 FPS using wwyele's versus gdmk's. I thought I was imagining things but I double checked it and the change was clear. Everything was smoother, except I thought certain points like moving through doors I thought took a bit longer.

Then again, this is your 4770k should outclass my 6500U so maybe you were able to get that much more from gdmk's optimised one.
>>
>>28274243
Weird indeed. Could it be a GPU thing?
I'll test it further with a clean playthrough.
>>
>>28274275
I'm beginning to think that GPU might be placebo/make the framerate WORSE. The frames seemed to take longer to render and stuff in wwyele's build whereas turning it off and using my default integrated intel HD520 seems to make it faster and smoother.

I got my ass completely owned by Roxanne on Rutile Ruby 679 (I finished the game on Alpha Sapphire in Citra last time (apart from the bits in the game where you're forced to use the romhacks in petalburg/rustboro too lazy to change languages just for those bits) and it was way too easy!).

I thought I'd do something challenging but I'm not tough enough and almost always give up on nuzlockes.

The AI sets up stealth rock first and sticky web second on shuck. It tanks anywhere from 1-3 hits from Masquerain then switches to Probopass and tries to score a T-wave or Lileep (tanks bubbleam with Lileep). Then Lileep spams Ancient Power and I haven't been able to able to get past lileep.

Can't imagine finishing a nuzlocke on this.
