Honestly, they are fine. The regional variants perfectly execute thier concept. The designs are different, but not different enough to say "this is a different pokemon"

which is the point. I think the best one is Meowth, because it's just a taller, thinner Meowth that became dark type. Also Eggxecutor, for having a clear distinction as to what happened to it and what made it that way

Nah it's just the newest method of genwun pandering, which in turn as genwun pandering is a terrible idea because it only makes the original forms people loved less relevant in marketing and merchandising and in game however good in battle they may be does nothing to make those original forms people loved any better or worse for a net growth of nothing
