Can Soak ever be a viable move?

Give it to something fast and bulky enough and it'd be good in Doubles.

You can do some really fun things in doubles with a Floatzel knowing Soak + Shedinja. Just make sure you build the rest of your team around taking out things that know electric and grass type moves and you're set for victory.

Yeah use soak to make any pokemon water and then have grass of electic type on the side to paralise of sleep it then attack with super effective hit. Thats actually what my beat team is based off of but its a soak dark void smeargle

if you're facing something that has an obvious earthquake like garchomp, soak its teammate and have heliolisk use electrify on the incoming earthquake.
earthquake will likely KO something (and probably golduck heh)

just use water shuriken with accelgor/greninja.

It's even priority, with extremely fast users, so the only thing that could stop that realistically would be fake out. Otherwise you have a good 66% chance of maxing defense at once.
