Teen Titans is pretty animu at times honestly. I mean its a show about a comic made primarily for kids, its gonna be a bit generic.

The comics themselves get pretty heavy on some stuff. Like Terra (OP's girl) being 15 and basically becoming a cum dumpster for Deathstroke/Slade Wilson.

Teen Titans actually got a bit of flack for being too anime-like in some viewers' opinion. It even had a Japanese opening theme song performed by Japanese pop band Puffy. Despite its humor and light overtones, it tended to get a little dark at times--at least as dark as Cartoon Network would allow, but the comics got reeeaaally dark. Raven, for instance, is basically the daughter of 'Satan'. There's a lot of occultism and cult shit surrounding her.
