Competitive Pokémon at its core is completely. I mean, even ignoring the fact that it's a casual kids game franchise and not even meant to be played at such a level of competition, it just looks retarded.

Imagine you were watching the anime and in the middle of the battle the characters were constantly switching their Pokémon in and out. Like a rotating door. It would completely break the flow of the match for spectators.
