Whats the difference between a regular trainer and the Pokemon game MCs? Why is it we are given super rare, special starters as our first Pokemon, but there are kids out there who have caught Rattata on their own, or bug pokemon, without any starters of their own? Why is our character not allowed to leave until we get a starter, but there are toddlers running around on their own who have teams of Pokemon? Why can random people just pick Pokemon fights with us, but they aren't considered "trainers"? If they are, again, what makes them different from our trainer? Hell, why does no one else get Pokedex's, you'd think Professors would be handing them out like hot cakes to everyone, or giving them to the E4 or the Champion, or the Gym leaders to fill up.
>>
Because you're a kid with privileges that knows a professor.

The lesson of Pokemon is that you will always be good if you know the right people.
>>
why are random underage kids in hanging around routes near the last few cities using better pokemon than gym leaders and leaders of criminal organizations from earlier in the game?

>Gen 1: Your long term neighbor and grandfather figure is a renowned Pokemon researcher. He gives you a rare Pokemon so that you can help him do research.
>Gen 2: Your long term neighbor and grandfather figure is a renowned Pokemon researcher. He gives you a Pokemon to run an errand for him through dangerous brush. Stuff happens and you just roll with it.
>Gen 3: You rescue a renowned Pokemon researcher by using one of their Pokemon. He lets you keep it in gratitude and with respect to your father, a local gym leader. It also gives his child a playmate.
>Gen 4: You are forced to use a rare Pokemon belonging to a renowned Pokemon researcher to save yourself and a friend. You build a bond with it and the researcher lets you keep it.
>Gen 5: Its a present from a milf who wants the D.
>Gen 6: Minna-san douzo :^)

Maybe it has to do with usually being in the town or the next town over so you have easy access to the professor or have friends/family that know them.

I'd like a game where instead of getting a unique, kind of overpowered character, you get a some choices of the new pokemon of that region, maybe you get to choose one out of all the types or something.

>Implying NPCs don't have starters as well.
For example Pokemon Ranger Jeffery in Route 212 in Sinnoh has a Prinplup
http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Sinnoh_Route_212

Hell even Flint has an Infernape as well.
>>
>>28248425
Well, I imagine the kids at later routes with high level Pokemon are like you, young trainers, perhaps even going on the Gym Badge challenge, and thus work to train their pokemon, but because they aren't as talented as you, they won't get all the way to the end.
>>
>>28248505
Well that raises even more questions. It makes sense a Ranger might have access to 'starter' Pokemon, being government agents. Flint has a lot of connections to, due to his family, and probably got his starter via those connections when he first started.

But you're just some kid, even if you're friends with the professor, why would they hand over such a rare pokemon to you and not to other newbies?
>>
>>28248444
fuck you my old boss used to do that all the time.

>Rare pokemon
>Implying they don't just breed more of them :^)

Why can't ash win the Pokémon league?

They're all easy question to answer with a little of thinking
>Whats the difference between a regular trainer and the Pokemon game MCs?
A: The amount of dedication, the MC is always after the badges and getting stronger and stronger.

>Why is it we are given super rare, special starters as our first Pokemon, but there are kids out there who have caught Rattata on their own, or bug pokemon, without any starters of their own?
A: MC just happen to know and live close to the pkm professor who gives starters to young childs he trust.
As for other kids having pokemons that aren't starters as their first pokemon it's probably because their parents gave them one for them to take care and have fun.

>Why is our character not allowed to leave until we get a starter, but there are toddlers running around on their own who have teams of Pokemon?
A: Probably because MC's mom doesn't want you to leave without getting first a pkm from the professor.
As for toddlers with more than a pokemon, that honestly is weird and it's hard to make an explanation for that.

>Why can random people just pick Pokemon fights with us, but they aren't considered "trainers"? If they are, again, what makes them different from our trainer?
A: This one is easy, it's because pkm battles is something everyone can do in the pkm world as long as you have a pkm, as for what they're not considered trainers is simply because they do pkm battles casually just for fun and they have no interest in collecting badges and because most of the random people that fight with you already have an occupation or hobby that isn't being a full time pkm trainer.

> Hell, why does no one else get Pokedex's, you'd think Professors would be handing them out like hot cakes to everyone, or giving them to the E4 or the Champion, or the Gym leaders to fill up.
A: It's mostly because the professor usually doesn't know the gym leaders or E4 or the champion, and because all of those people because of their jobs as gyms leaders or E4 can't go collecting pkms all around the world, while the MC is a young kid that the professor knows and is on and adventure that is gonna make him explore the region, thus making him a perfect helper for completing the pokedex.

well, that was fun, i hope that makes sense OP.

Starters aren't meant to be rare, you just can't catch them in the wild for gameplay purposes. Other trainers have them as well.
