Due to pokemon in the Alola region not falling for Victreebel's trap, Victreebel had to focus on attacking prey from the ground. A pokemon would walk onto Victreebel's well hidden mouth and would chomp down with its teeth.

Alolan Tentacruel evolved out of the need to survive in areas with prominent thunderstorms. As there is little food in those areas, the Alolan Tentacruel pursuits smaller Pokémon mercilessly. It paralyzes its prey with strong electrical jolts.

Alolan Poliwag line (based on coquis)
A few years ago, there was actually an invasion of coquis in Hawaii after a few of them got there on a ship. Since they thrive in tropical enviorments, the coqui quickly became an issue for the people in Hawaii, especially since the people weren't accustomed to their nightly calls.
They could give them a new ability that either boosts the power of sound- based moves or increases the priority of said moves. Give it Boomburst and Hyper Voice.
I'd prefer if the line ended in Alolan Politoed, but since Alolan versions seem to be Kanto exclusive, Poliwrath could work too.
