If you're connected to the internet when you save, it syncs with the global link to see if you have any gifts, updates etc.
Other than that, might be different for downloaded games or something like that?

No it's not Game Sync cause I have than on "Off" and it also takes this long even when I'm not online.
If it helps, my game is from eShop. But I don't see anyone else with this problem for their downloaded games.
Anyway to fix it?

I understand Gen V, even worse in Gen IV.
But it's making AS unplayable for me when it takes so long to save. Compared to my OR and XY copies
